An apparatus and method for crosstalk compensation in a jack of a modular communications connector includes a flexible printed circuit board connected to jack contacts and to connections to a network cable. The flexible printed circuit board includes conductive traces arranged as one or more couplings to provide crosstalk compensation.
Opening claim text (preview).
The invention claimed is: 1. A communication jack for interfacing with a communication plug comprising: a housing defining an opening configured to receive a plug: a plurality of conductors for interfacing with plug contacts of the communication plug contained within the opening; a plurality of insulation displacement contacts (IDCs); a flexible printed circuit board having traces which are used to electrically connect the plurality of conductors to the IDCs and further has traces configured to compensate for crosstalk between signal pairs of the plurality of conductors. 2. The communication jack of claim 1 wherein the conductors are connected to the flexible printed circuit board proximate to an interface of the conductors to the plug contacts.
