The invention claimed is: 1. A polythiophene derivative comprising a repeating unit represented by General Formula (1) below: where R 1 and R 2 each independently denote a group having from 2 through 9 carbon atoms represented by —(R 3 —S) p —R 4 (where R 3 denotes an alkylene group having from 1 through 4 carbon atoms, R 4 denotes an alkyl group having from 1 through 6 carbon atoms or an aromatic group having from 5 through 6 carbon atoms, and p denotes an integer of 1 or 2), Ar denotes an optionally substituted divalent or monovalent aromatic ring moiety or aromatic heterocyclic moiety, m denotes a natural number of 2 or more, and n denotes a natural number of 0 or 2 or more. 2. The polythiophene derivative according to claim 1 , wherein the Ar is a thiophene derivative moiety. 3. A method for producing a polythiophene derivative, the method comprising polymerizing raw material monomers with an oxidizing agent to produce the polythiophene derivative according to claim 1 . 4. A cathode active material for a secondary battery, the cathode active material comprising the polythiophene derivative according to claim 1 . 5. A secondary battery comprising the cathode active material for a secondary battery according to claim 4 .
