Methods, apparatus and systems for managing an exposure of a network to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed. One representative method includes receiving, by an access point (AP) of the network, information associated with the WTRU; and selectively exposing, by the AP, the network.

What is claimed is: 1. A method of managing an exposure of an indicated network that is hidden to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising: receiving, by an access point (AP), an identifier associated with the WTRU; sending, by the AP, the identifier of the WTRU to a network entity (NE); receiving, by the AP from the NE, information indicating whether or not to expose the indicated network that is hidden to the WTRU; on condition that the indicated network is to be exposed to the WTRU, receiving, by the AP via the NE, one or more connection policies to enable a connection of the WTRU to the indicated network; determining, by the AP, based on at least the received information whether to expose the indicated network; selectively exposing, by the AP, the indicated network; and on condition that the indicated network is exposed: (1) connecting the WTRU with the indicated network, and (2) controlling access of the WTRU to the indicated network based on the one or more connection policies received via the NE. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein: the selectively exposing of the indicated network includes one of: (1) exposing the indicated network to the WTRU; or (2) hiding the exposed indicated network from the WTRU; and the hiding of the exposed indicated network from the WTRU includes: disassociating, by the AP, the WTRU from the exposed indicated network, and halting, by the AP, communication to the WTRU from the AP. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selectively exposing of the indicated network includes: selectively responding, by the AP with a probe response to the WTRU searching for the indicated network on condition that the received information associated with the WTRU satisfies one or more network exposure rules. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the selectively responding with the probe response to the WTRU searching for the indicated network includes: determining whether any of: (1) the WTRU is a preferred device; (2) a user of the WTRU is a preferred user; or (3) the WTRU is executing a preferred application, as a determined result; and exposing the indicated network to the WTRU based on the determined result. 5. The method of claim 3 , further comprising: determining, by the AP using a friend association list, whether the WTRU is authorized to access the indicated network; and assigning, by the AP, automatic access by the WTRU to the indicated network on condition that the WTRU is authorized to access the indicated network. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein: the determining of whether or not to expose the indicated network includes: determining a capacity of the indicated network; determining to expose the indicated network to the WTRU on condition that the capacity of the indicated network will not be exceeded if the WTRU is connected to the indicated network, and determining to hide the exposed indicated network from the WTRU on condition that the capacity of the indicated network will be exceeded if the WTRU is connected to the exposed indicated network. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising configuring the AP to allow a further WTRU to be exposed to the indicated network via a further friend association list that is associated with any of: (1) the WTRU; or (2) a user of the WTRU. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: sending, by the AP to another WTRU associated with the indicated network, a notification that the WTRU listed in a friend association list is to be given, is being given, or has been given exposure to the indicated network; receiving, by the AP, a message indicating one of: (1) a pre-approval of the exposure of the indicated network to the WTRU; (2) a post-approval of the exposure of the indicated network to the WTRU or (3) a disapproval of the exposure of the indicated network to the WTRU; and initiating, continuing or halting exposure of the indicated network to the WTRU based on the indication in the received message. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the WTRU is associated with a further network that includes an associated network configuration, the method further comprising virtualizing the further network, using the associated network configuration, on the indicated network. 10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising virtualizing, on the AP, a home network associated with the WTRU using a SSID of the home network. 11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising triggering the access for the WTRU based on any of: (1) a credit or debit card purchase; (2) a ticket purchase; (3) payment for a rental of a hotel; (4) a purchase of a service or a good and/or (5) card access to a building. 12. A network access point (NAP) configured to manage an exposure of an indicated network that is hidden to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), comprising: a transmit/receive unit configured to: receive, from the WTRU, an identifier associated with the WTRU, send, to a network entity (NE), the identifier of the WTRU, and receive, from the NE, information indicating whether or not to expose an indicated network to the WTRU; on condition that the indicated network is to be exposed to the WTRU, receive, via the NE, one or more connection policies to enable a connection of the WTRU to the indicated network; and a processor configured to: selectively expose the indicated network; and on condition that the indicated network is exposed: (1) connect the WTRU with the indicated network, and (2) control access of the WTRU to the indicated network based on the one or more connection policies received via the NE. 13. The NAP of claim 12 , wherein the processor is configured to: disassociate the WTRU from the indicated network; and halt communication to the WTRU from the NAP. 14. The NAP of claim 12 , wherein the processor is configured to: expose the indicated network to the WTRU on condition that the information indicates to expose the indicated network to the WTRU, and continue to hide the indicated network from the WTRU on condition that the information indicates to not expose the indicated network to the WTRU. 15. The NAP of claim 12 , wherein the processor is configured to: determine a Quality of Service (QoS) level to be used by the WTRU; expose the indicated network to the WTRU on condition that the QoS level exceeds a QoS threshold level, and continue to hide the indicated network from the WTRU on condition that the QoS level does not exceed the QoS threshold level. 16. The NAP of claim 12 , wherein the processor is configured to selectively expose the indicated network to the WTRU based on load balancing rules such that the indicated network is exposed to the WTRU to move the WTRU to the indicated network to redistribute load and the indicated network is hidden from the WTRU to move the WTRU out of the indicated network to redistribute load to one or more further networks in accordance with the load balancing rules. 17. The NAP of claim 12 , wherein the processor is configured to: determine, using a friend association list, whether the WTRU is authorized to access the indicated network; and assign automatic access by the WTRU to the indicated network on condition that the WTRU is authorized to access the indicated network. 18. The NAP of claim 12 , wherein: the transmit/receive unit is configured to: send to another WTRU associated with the indicated network, a notification that the WTRU listed in a friend association list is to be given, is being given or has been given exposure to the indicated network, and receive, a
