To minimize the setup times in the case of a tool changeover on rolls, the movement sequences are separated into transverse movements and vertical movements using a tool changeover system and method for changeover of at least one tool disposed on a roll shaft in a working position. In one aspect, the tool changeover system includes a tool changeover rack, a vertical transport and a transverse transport. A drawing frame separate from the tool changeover rack can be transported transversely separately with reference to the tool changeover rack. The tool changeover rack has a device for connecting with the vertical transport and a tool accommodation for accommodating the tool. The drawing frame has a device for connecting with the transverse transport and a device for connecting with the tool.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A tool changeover system for changeover of at least one tool disposed on a roll shaft in a working position, said tool being removed from said roll shaft in a changing position, the roll shaft having a first side mounted on a first roll support and having a second side mounted on a second roll support, the tool changeover system comprising: (a) a vertical transport; (b) a tool changeover rack comprising a device for connecting with the vertical transport and a tool accommodation for accommodating the at least one tool in said changing position; (c) a transverse transport; and (d) a drawing frame separate from the tool changeover rack and separately transportable transversely with reference to the tool changeover rack, wherein the drawing frame comprises a device for connecting with the transverse transport and a device for connecting with the tool. 2. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , further comprising a guide support and a changeover rack guide configured as a motion link guide between the tool changeover rack and the guide support, wherein the motion link guide comprises a guide track having an open top portion comprising a guide track opening, and wherein the guide track comprises a constant vertical track component guiding the tool changeover rack to the changeover position with reference to the working position. 3. A tool changeover system according to claim 2 , further comprising an introduction aid provided on a guide entrance of the guide track disposed near the guide track opening. 4. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , the tool changeover system further comprising: a guide support configured separately from the roll support; and a changeover rack guide configured as a motion link guide between the tool changeover rack and the guide support. 5. The tool changeover system according to claim 4 , wherein the motion link guide comprises a guide track having an open top portion and wherein the guide track comprises a constant vertical track component guiding the tool changeover rack to the changeover position with reference to the working position. 6. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , wherein the tool changeover system serves for changeover of multiple tools disposed on different roll shafts and connected with one another to form a compound structure. 7. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , wherein the vertical transport is a crane. 8. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , wherein the transverse transport is a cable pull mechanism. 9. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , further comprising a roll system comprising: a roll comprising: (a) a roll shaft; and (b) tools disposed on the roll shaft in a working position; the first roll support; and the second roll support; wherein the roll comprises a clamping ring that clamps the tools comprising a quick-clamp-and-release unit having a clamping element comprising an activation element facing axially outward with reference to the tools away from the tools. 10. The tool changeover system according to claim 9 , wherein the roll is adapted to be a stretching roll or a transverse roll. 11. The tool changeover system according to claim 9 , wherein the activation element comprises a screw head of a clamping screw disposed to face axially outward with reference to the tools away from the tools. 12. The tool changeover system according to claim 9 , wherein the quick-clamp-and-release unit comprises a securing element as an axial securing device disposed on the clamping ring so that the securing element is movable back and forth from a securing position to a release position, in non-releasable manner. 13. The tool changeover system according to claim 12 , wherein the securing element is a securing pin. 14. The tool changeover system according to claim 1 , wherein said device for connecting with the vertical transport comprises a hook continuation and/or a recess into which a crane hook can be hooked. 15. A tool changeover method for changeover of at least one tool disposed in a working position on a roll shaft in a roll stand, said tool being removed from said roll shaft in a changing position, the roll shaft having a first side mounted on a first roll support and having a second side mounted on a second roll support, the method comprising the steps of: (a) first connecting the at least one tool with a drawing frame to form a compound structure and connecting a transverse transport with the drawing frame; and (b) subsequently using the transverse transport to remove said tool from said roll shaft to bring the compound structure from the working position of the at least one tool to a tool changeover rack, moving said tool in its changing position, or from the tool changeover rack to the working position, moving said tool from its changing position to its working position and disposing said tool on said roll shaft. 16. The tool changeover method according to claim 15 , further comprising using a vertical transport to move the tool changeover rack to or from a changeover position. 17. The tool changeover method according to claim 15 , further comprising the steps of: (a) using a vertical transport to introduce a tool changeover rack into a guide track guiding the tool changeover rack with reference to the working position; and (b) moving the tool changeover rack away from the changeover position or to the changeover position along the guide track; wherein the tool changeover rack is lowerable from above the guide track into the changeover position or the tool changeover rack is raisable upward from the changeover position until the tool changeover rack leaves the guide track. 18. The tool changeover method according to claim 15 , wherein the tool changeover method serves for changeover of multiple tools disposed on different roll shafts and connected with one another to form a compound structure for a tool changeover. 19. The tool changeover method according to claim 18 , wherein the tools are axially displaced from the roll shafts to the tool changeover rack and from the tool changeover rack to the roll shafts. 20. The tool changeover method according to claim 15 , further comprising steps of: connecting said tool changeover rack to a vertical transport for vertically transporting said tool changeover rack, and disconnecting said tool changeover rack from said vertical transport.
