Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A system and method for deriving income from URL based context queries. A URL based user context query is received over a network from a user, wherein the user context comprises at least one user context criteria. A query is formulated based on the context criteria so as to search for user profile data, social network data, spatial data, temporal data, topical data and context query bid data that is available via the network and relates to the context so as to identify entries in a context query bid database that relate to user context criteria. A dynamic webpage is generated having content relating to the query and advertisements associated with the selected bid are inserted into the webpage. The dynamic webpage is transmitted to the user. The advertiser associated with the selected bid is charged a fee when a user interface event relating to the dynamic webpage occurs.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: receiving, at a computing device, a context query from a user for a data object associated with a context, said context query comprising information associated with a uniform resource locator (URL) of the data object on a W4 Communication Network (W4 COMN); identifying, via the computing device, the data object within said W4 COMN based on said URL, said identification further comprising using the URL to identify a set of real world entities (RWEs) and Information Objects (IOs) relating to the context; determining, via the computing device, additional content objects, said additional content objects being content objects that are to be included in a response to the context query in addition to the requested data object, said determination comprising: analyzing, via the computing device, the identified set of RWEs and IOs, and based on said analysis, determining social data associated with the data object; determining, via the computing device, a social context based on the context included in said context query and the social data; and analyzing, via the computing device, relationships of the data object with other data objects based on the determined social context, and based on said analysis, determining said additional content objects, wherein said additional data objects are determined to correspond, based on the analyzed relationships, to said social context; identifying, via the computing device over said W4 COMN, network location information associated with said additional content objects; and generating, via the computing device, a dynamic web page in response to said user context query, said generation comprising communicating said dynamic web page to said user for display on a device of said user, said generated dynamic web page comprising content associated with the requested data object and said additional content objects. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said content on the generated dynamic web page is depicted as hyperlinks for each of the data object and additional content objects. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining temporal data associated with the RWEs and IOs of the data object, wherein said determination of said additional content objects is further based on said temporal data such that the additional content objects additionally correspond to a temporal context within said context. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining spatial data associated with the RWEs and IOs of the data object, wherein said determination of said additional content objects is further based on said spatial data such that the additional content objects additionally correspond to a spatial context within said context. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining topical data associated with the RWEs and IOs of the data object, wherein said determination of said additional content objects is further based on said topical data such that the additional content objects additionally correspond to a topical context within said context. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein said context query further comprise W4 data associated with the user available to the W4 COMN. 7. The method of claim 6 , wherein said determination of the additional content objects is further in accordance with the W4 data provided within said context query. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein said relationships of the data object with other data objects based on the identified set of RWEs and IOs is in accordance with a set of privacy settings such that the additional content objects are discoverable in accordance with said privacy settings. 9. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium tangibly encoded with computer-executable instructions, that when executed by a computing device, perform a method comprising: receiving a context query from a user for a data object associated with a context, said context query comprising information associated with a uniform resource locator (URL) of the data object on a W4 Communication Network (W4 COMN); identifying the data object within said W4 COMN based on said URL, said identification further comprising using the URL to identify a set of real world entities (RWEs) and Information Objects (IOs) relating to the context; determining additional content objects, said additional content objects being content objects that are to be included in a response to the context query in addition to the requested data object, said determination comprising: analyzing the identified set of RWEs and IOs, and based on said analysis, determining social data associated with the data object; determining a social context based on the context included in said context query and the social data; and analyzing, via the computing device, relationships of the data object with other data objects based on the determined social context, and based on said analysis, determining said additional content objects, wherein said additional data objects are determined to correspond, based on the analyzed relationships, to said social context; identifying, over said W4 COMN, network location information associated with said additional content objects; and generating a dynamic web page in response to said user context query, said generation comprising communicating said dynamic web page to said user for display on a device of said user, said generated dynamic web page comprising content associated with the requested data object and said additional content objects. 10. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein said content on the generated dynamic web page is depicted as hyperlinks for each of the data object and additional content objects. 11. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , further comprising: determining W4 data associated with the RWEs and IOs of the data object, wherein said determination of said additional content objects is further based on said W4 data such that the additional content objects additionally correspond to a W4 context within said context. 12. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , wherein said W4 data is associated with the data object and comprises at least one of temporal, spatial and topical data. 13. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein said context query further comprise W4 data associated with the user available to the W4 COMN. 14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein said determination of the additional content objects is further in accordance with the W4 data provided within said context query. 15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein said relationships of the data object with other data objects based on the identified set of RWEs and IOs is in accordance with a set of privacy settings such that the additional content objects are discoverable in accordance with said privacy settings. 16. A computing device, comprising: a processor; a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for tangibly storing thereon program logic for execution by the processor, the program logic comprising: logic executed by the processor for receiving a context query from a user for a data object associated with a context, said context query comprising information associated with a uniform resource locator (URL) of the data object on a W4 Communication Network (W4 COMN); logic executed by the processor for identifying the data object within said W4 COMN based on said URL, said identification further using the URL t
