The present invention provides Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 KCTC 11402BP, a composition containing the Lactobacillus for treating intestinal diseases, and a composition containing the Lactobacillus for enhancing immunity.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for treating an immune disease caused by Th1/Th2 imbalance in favor of a Th2 shift in a subject, comprising: administering a composition comprising Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 to the subject in need thereof. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is selected from the group consisting of pharmaceuticals, food, animal feed, feed additives and cosmetics. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is a human. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is administered orally. 5. A method for improving a microbial environment in a gastrointestinal tract of a subject, comprising: administering a composition comprising Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 to the subject in need thereof favor. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the composition is selected from the group consisting of pharmaceuticals, food, animal feed, feed additives and cosmetics. 7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the subject is a human. 8. The method of claim 5 , wherein the composition is administered orally. 9. A method for treating an immune disease in a subject, comprising: administering a composition comprising Lactobacillus plantarum CJLP56 to the subject in need thereof, wherein the immune disease is caused by Th1/Th2 imbalance in favor of a Th2 shift and is selected from the group consisting of allergic diseases, atopy, cancer, and enteropathy. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the composition is selected from the group consisting of pharmaceuticals, food, animal feed, feed additives and cosmetics. 11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the subject is a human. 12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the composition is administered orally.
