Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present disclosure provides a detailed description of techniques used in systems, methods, and in computer program products for bi-directional social media broker services that connect multiple social media sites using a common management framework. The claimed embodiments address the problem of efficiently scaling and managing bidirectional interaction with multiple social media publishing channels. More specifically, the claimed embodiments are directed to approaches for a computing platform having multiple message broker modules that enable bi-directional communication of messages between a common resource manager and a plurality of social media sites. The message broker modules can receive messages in a unified message format from the common resource manager, queue the messages for asynchronous processing, translate the messages from the unified message format to a site-specific format, and deliver the translated messages to multiple social media sites.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: transmitting, by a broker server to a social resource management (SRM) server, a first social site widget specific to a first social media site; transmitting, by the broker server to the SRM server, a second social site widget specific to a second social media site, wherein the SRM server integrates the first social site widget and the second social site widget into a user interface of the SRM server; receiving, by the broker server from the SRM server, a first electronic message comprising content in a first format, wherein the first electronic message was prepared using the first social site widget integrated into the user interface of the SRM server; receiving, by the broker server from the SRM server, a second electronic message comprising the content in the first format, wherein the second electronic message was prepared using the second social site widget integrated into the user interface of the SRM server; responsive to receiving the first electronic message: generating, by the broker server, a first converted message by converting the first electronic message from the first format to a second format, and transmitting the first converted message from the broker server to the first social media site; responsive to receiving the second electronic message: generating, by the broker server, a second converted message by converting the second electronic message from the first format to a third format, and transmitting the second converted message from the broker server to the second social media site; receiving, by the broker server from the first social media site, a third electronic message in the second format, wherein the third electronic message comprises at least one social media field that is responsive to the first converted message; and responsive to receiving the third electronic message: generating, by the broker server, a third converted message by converting the third electronic message from the second format to the first format, and transmitting the third converted message from the broker server to the SRM server, wherein the second format is specific to the first social media site and the third format is specific to the second social media site. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one social media data field comprise at least one of a “like” indication, a “plus” indication, a “retweet” indication, a “share” indication, or a “vote” indication, or any combination thereof. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first electronic message uses JavaScript Object Notation. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the content of the first electronic message and the content of the second electronic message are populated from a content creation field of the user interface. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: queuing, by the broker server, the first converted message before transmitting the first converted message to the first social media site. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: queuing, by the broker server, the third converted message before transmitting the third converted message to the SRM server. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: establishing a secure connection between the SRM sever and the broker server. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: establishing a secure connection between the broker server and the social media site. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface displays the first social site widget and the second social site widget simultaneously. 10. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed by one or more hardware processors, cause performance of operations comprising: transmitting, by a broker server to a social resource management (SRM) server, a first social site widget specific to a first social media site; transmitting, by the broker server to the SRM server, a second social site widget specific to a second social media site, wherein the SRM server integrates the first social site widget and the second social site widget into a user interface of the SRM server; receiving, by the broker server from the SRM server, a first electronic message comprising content in a first format, wherein the first electronic message was prepared using the first social site widget integrated into the user interface of the SRM server; receiving, by the broker server from the SRM server, a second electronic message comprising the content in the first format, wherein the second electronic message was prepared using the second social site widget integrated into the user interface of the SRM server; responsive to receiving the first electronic message: generating, by the broker server, a first converted message by converting the first electronic message from the first format to a second format, and transmitting the first converted message from the broker server to the first social media site; responsive to receiving the second electronic message: generating, by the broker server, a second converted message by converting the second electronic message from the first format to a third format, and transmitting the second converted message from the broker server to the second social media site; receiving, by the broker server from the first social media site, a third electronic message in the second format, wherein the third electronic message comprises at least one social media field that is responsive to the first converted message; and responsive to receiving the third electronic message: generating, by the broker server, a third converted message by converting the third electronic message from the second format to the first format, and transmitting the third converted message from the broker server to the SRM server, wherein the second format is specific to the first social media site and the third format is specific to the second social media site. 11. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the at least one social media data field comprise at least one of a “like” indication, a “plus” indication, a “retweet” indication, a “share” indication, or a “vote” indication, or any combination thereof. 12. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the content of the first electronic message and the content of the second electronic message are populated from a content creation field of the user interface. 13. The medium of claim 10 , the operations further comprising: queuing, by the broker server, the first converted message before transmitting the first converted message to the first social media site. 14. The medium of claim 10 , the operations further comprising: queuing, by the broker server, the third converted message before transmitting the third converted message to the SRM server. 15. The medium of claim 10 , the operations further comprising: establishing a secure connection between the SRM sever and the broker server. 16. The medium of claim 10 , the operations further comprising: establishing a secure connection between the broker server and the social media site. 17. The medium of claim 10 , wherein the user interface displays the first social site widget and the second social site widget simultaneously. 18. A system comprising: one or more hardware processors; and one or more one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions, which when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause execution of operations comprising: transmitting, by a broker server to a social resource management (SRM) server, a first social site widget spe
