What is claimed is: 1. A method to confer, enhance, improve or modify the odor properties of a perfuming composition or of a perfumed article by imparting a fruity odor note which is devoid of herbaceous notes, which method comprises adding to the composition or article an effective amount of at least a compound of formula in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or of a mixture thereof, and wherein R 1 represents a C 1-3 alkyl or alkenyl group, R 2 represents a methyl group, R 3 represents a C 1-4 alkyl or alkenyl group, and said compound (I) has from 8 to 11 carbon atoms. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the compound has 8 or 10 carbon atoms. 3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein R 1 represents a C 2 or C 3 alkyl group. 4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein R 3 represents a C 2-4 alkyl group. 5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the compound is (−)-propyl(2S)-2-(isobutyryloxy)propanoate. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least a compound of formula I is added in the form of a composition comprising at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of a perfumery carrier and a perfumery base; and optionally at least one perfumery adjuvant. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least a compound of formula I is added to a perfumed article comprising a consumer product base. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the consumer product base is a solid or liquid detergent, a fabric softener, a perfume, a cologne or after-shave lotion, a perfumed soap, a shower or bath salt, mousse, oil or gel, a hygiene product, a hair care product, a shampoo, a body-care product, a deodorant or antiperspirant, an air freshener, a cosmetic preparation, a fabric refresher, an ironing water, a paper, a wipe or a bleach. 9. A method to confer, enhance, improve or modify the odor properties of a perfuming composition or of a perfumed article by imparting a fruity odor note which is devoid of herbaceous notes, which method comprises adding to the composition or article an effective amount of at least a compound of formula in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or of a mixture thereof, and said compound (I) has from 9 or 10 carbon atoms, wherein R 1 represents a C 2 alkyl group, R 2 represents a methyl group, R 3 represents a C 3-4 alkyl group. 10. The method of claim 9 wherein R 3 represents a C 4 alkyl group. 11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the at least a compound of formula I is added in the form of a composition comprising at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of a perfumery carrier and a perfumery base; and optionally at least one perfumery adjuvant. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein in the compound of formula I, R 3 represents a C 4 alkyl group. 13. The method of claim 9 , wherein the at least a compound of formula I is added to a perfumed article comprising a consumer product base. 14. The method of claim 13 , wherein in the compound of formula I, R 3 represents a C 4 alkyl group. 15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the consumer product base is a solid or liquid detergent, a fabric softener, a perfume, a cologne or after-shave lotion, a perfumed soap, a shower or bath salt, mousse, oil or gel, a hygiene product, a hair care product, a shampoo, a body-care product, a deodorant or antiperspirant, an air freshener, a cosmetic preparation, a fabric refresher, an ironing water, a paper, a wipe or a bleach.
