We claim: 1. A method for providing a subject in need thereof with neuroprotection, comprising administering to said subject a neuroprotective composition which includes an effective amount of the mito-metformin compound of the following structure, wherein n is selected from the group consisting of one (1), five (5), nine (9), and eleven (11). 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject suffers from a neurodegenerative disease. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the subject suffers from a neurodegenerative disease selected from the group consisting of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other related neurological diseases. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is a mammal. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the mammal is a human. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the administering to said subject the neuroprotective composition prevents, reduces or reverses neuronal cell death within the subject. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the method treats a neural injury in a subject having a neurodegenerative disease by administering an effective amount of the neuroprotection composition in order to treat the neural injury. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the neuroprotective composition is administered in an amount effective to prevent, reduce or treat at least one symptom in a subject suffering from a neurodegenerative disease. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the neurodegenerative disease is Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease.
