Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method of measuring a display delay time includes a step where a display pattern displayed on a first display including i (i is a natural number greater than 2) display elements is switched to a display pattern other than the display pattern at every elapse of a pattern continuation time, and j (j is a natural number, 1<j<i) display elements brought into a first display state is switched at every elapse, a step where an image of the display pattern on the first display is captured, a step where the captured image is displayed on a second display, and a step where the display delay time from capturing the image on the first display to displaying the image on the second display is measured based on a difference between the display pattern on the first display and the display pattern on the second display.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A method of measuring a display delay time comprising: a first step in which a display pattern displayed on a first display including i (i is a natural number greater than 2) display elements is switched to a display pattern other than the display pattern at every elapse of a pattern continuation time of the display pattern, and j (j is a natural number, and 1<j<i) display elements to be brought into a first display state among i display elements is switched at every elapse of the pattern continuation time; a second step in which an image of the display pattern displayed on the first display is captured; a third step in which the captured image of the display pattern is displayed on a second display; and a fourth step in which the display delay time from capturing the image of the display pattern displayed on the first display to displaying the image of the display pattern on the second display is measured based on a difference between the display pattern displayed on the first display and the display pattern displayed on the second display. 2. The method of measuring a display delay time according to claim 1 , wherein in the first step, (i−j) display elements other than j display elements in the first display state are brought into a second display state. 3. The method of measuring a display delay time according to claim 1 , wherein each of the display elements is a light emitting element, the first display state is a turn-on state, and the second display state is a turn-off state. 4. The method of measuring a display delay time according to claim 1 , wherein in the switching operation, among j display elements in the first display elements, k display elements continuously in the first display state for a long time are brought into the second display state. 5. The method of measuring a display delay time according to claim 1 , further comprising: a preparation step in which at least one of i, j, k, and the pattern continuation time is set prior to the first step. 6. The method of measuring a display delay time according to claim 5 , wherein when a predetermined time T is the shortest time the display element is continuously in the first display state, at least one of the pattern continuation time, j, and k is set in such a manner that the pattern continuation time j/k is greater than or equal to T. 7. A method of measuring a display delay time from capturing an image to displaying the image, in which a first display includes a plurality of display elements, and the plurality of display elements are grouped in such a manner that the same group includes the display elements close to each other in a predetermined direction, and each group includes a first type display element and a second type display element, the method comprising: a first step in which a display pattern displayed on a first display is switched to a display pattern other than the display pattern at every elapse of a pattern continuation time of the display pattern, and at every elapse of the pattern continuation time, among i (i is a natural number greater than 2) first type display elements of the group, j (j is a natural number, and 1<j<i) first type display elements to be brought into a first display state is switched, and h (h is a natural number) second type display elements of the group display progress of the switching operation; a second step in which an image of the display pattern displayed on the first display is captured; a third step in which the captured image of the display pattern is displayed on a second display; and a fourth step in which the display delay time from capturing the image of the display pattern displayed on the first display to displaying the image of the display pattern on the second display is measured based on a difference between the display pattern displayed on the first display and the display pattern displayed on the second display. 8. A display device configured to measure a display delay time comprising: a display configured to include i (i is a natural number greater than 2) display elements; and a controller configured to bring j (j is a natural number, and 1<j<i) display elements among i display elements into a first display state and thereby an m-th (m is a natural number greater than or equal to one) display pattern is formed by i display elements, and whenever a pattern continuation time of the display pattern has elapsed from the display of the m-th display pattern, the controller executes a switching operation of switching i display elements in an (m+n)-th display pattern (n is a natural number) having a different number of the display elements in the first display state. 9. The display device configured to measure a display delay time according to claim 8 , wherein the controller is further configured to bring (i−j) display elements other than j display elements in the first display state into a second display state. 10. A display device configured to measure a display delay time comprising: a display configured to include a plurality of display elements, in which the plurality of display elements are grouped in such a manner that the same group includes the display elements close to each other in a predetermined direction, and each group includes a first type display element and a second type display element; and a controller configured to switch the display pattern of the display to a display pattern other than the display pattern at every elapse of a pattern continuation time of the display pattern, to switch j (j is a natural number, and 1<j<i) first type display elements to be brought into a first display state among i (i is a natural number greater than 2) first type display elements of the group at every elapse of the pattern continuation time of the display pattern, and to control h (h is a natural number) second type display elements of the group display to display progress of the switching operation. 11. A method of manufacturing a display comprising: a first step in which a display pattern displayed on a first display including i (i is a natural number greater than 2) display elements is switched to a display pattern other than the display pattern at every elapse of a pattern continuation time of the display pattern, and j (j is a natural number, and 1<j<i) display elements to be brought into a first display state among i display elements is switched at every elapse of the pattern continuation time of the display pattern; a second step in which an image of the display pattern displayed on the first display is captured; a third step in which the captured image of the display pattern is displayed on a second display; and a fourth step in which the display delay time from capturing the image of the display pattern displayed on the first display to displaying the image captured on the second display is measured.
