In a method of manufacturing a quantum dot, a core may be formed using (utilizing) at least one cation precursor and at least one anion precursor. The core may be reacted with a shell forming precursor and a ligand forming precursor for more than one hour to form a shell enclosing the core and a ligand. A nanoparticle including the core, the shell and the ligand may be washed.

What is claimed is: 1. A quantum dot comprising: a core; a first shell and a second shell enclosing the core; and a ligand on a surface of the second shell, wherein the quantum dot has a size from greater than 10 nm to about 13 nm, wherein the ligand comprises oleate and trioctylphosphine, and wherein the core comprises a reaction product of at least one cation precursor and at least one anion precursor, the cation precursor is selected from the group consisting of an element in Group XII and an element in Group XIII, and the anion precursor is selected from the group consisting of an element in Group XV and an element in Group XVI. 2. The quantum dot of claim 1 , wherein the first shell has a gradient composition and the second shell has a constant composition. 3. The quantum dot of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and the second shells comprises at least one element in Group XII and at least one element in Group XVI. 4. The quantum dot of claim 1 , wherein the ligand comprises oleate. 5. The quantum dot of claim 1 , wherein the core has a blue emission color or a green emission color.
