An electric motor, in particular a radiator fan motor of a motor vehicle, has a stator which is fitted with a rotating-field winding, and a rotor which is mounted such that it can rotate in relation to the stator. A converter electronics system is provided, wherein a number of contact elements for insulation-free or enamel-insulated connection contacts of at least one component of the converter electronics system and/or for enamel-insulated winding ends of the rotating-field winding are mounted on a printed circuit board. The contact elements are in the form of clamping contacts or insulation-displacement terminal contacts.

The invention claimed is: 1. An insulation-displacement contact for an enamel-insulated connection contact, the insulation-displacement contact comprising: a contact base; two insulation-displacement limbs defining an insulation-displacement gap disposed between said two insulation-displacement limbs and extending in an insulation-displacement direction from an insertion zone to said contact base; a pre-cutting zone adjoining the insertion zone within said insulation-displacement gap, said pre-cutting zone having a sharp-edged, cutting edge for cutting into an enamel insulation of the enamel-insulated connection contact via at least one of said insulation-displacement limbs; an abrasion zone adjoining said pre-cutting zone in the insulation-displacement direction for receiving the enamel insulation of the enamel-insulated connection contact, said abrasion zone configured to be one of wedge-shaped or V-shaped toward said contact base and having an obliquely running abrasion edge along said insulation-displacement gap in the insulation-displacement direction; and a clamping zone adjoining said abrasion zone in the insulation-displacement direction, said clamping zone having a round edge for causing a slow ramping of a clamping force increase within said insulation-displacement gap.
