What is claimed is: 1. A sliding tray configured to support one or more optical communications modules comprising: a body portion having one or more mounting locations for the one or more optical communications modules; a trough projecting from a front of the body portion and configured to support optical fibers connected to the one or more optical communications modules; a cover pivotably connected to the tray and selectively pivotable between an open position providing access to the trough and a closed position covering at least a portion of the trough, wherein said cover includes a main panel having a front edge, a rear edge and first and second side edges with a front wall depending from the front edge of the main panel and first and second side walls depending from the first and second side edges of the main panel, wherein the cover is connected to the tray between a rear of the body portion and a front, outer edge of the trough, and wherein in the closed position, the main panel covers at least a portion of the top of the trough; and first and second spaced upstanding supports on the tray, each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports extending away from the tray in the up direction toward the cover, each of the first and second spaced supports including a first cooperating feature, each of the first and second side walls including a second cooperating feature, wherein the first cooperating feature of the first support attaches to the second cooperating feature of the first side wall and the first cooperating feature of the second support attaches to the second cooperating feature of the second side wall. 2. The sliding tray of claim 1 , wherein the first cooperating features are first and second openings formed in the first and second supports, respectively, and the second cooperating features are first and second shafts formed on the first and second side walls, respectively. 3. The sliding tray of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports extend approximately perpendicularly away from the tray. 4. The sliding tray of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports is located in a position near a junction of the body portion and the trough. 5. The sliding tray of claim 2 , wherein each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports is located in a position near a junction of the body portion and the trough. 6. The sliding tray of claim 3 , wherein each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports is located in a position near a junction of the body portion and the trough. 7. The sliding tray of claim 1 , wherein the one or more mounting locations of the body portion includes plural mounting locations for a plurality of optical communications modules. 8. The sliding tray of claim 1 , wherein the trough has a width between the body portion and the trough outer edge and a length between first and second ends of the trough, and wherein the first side wall of the cover is spaced from the front wall of the cover by a gap. 9. The sliding tray of claim 8 , wherein the one or more mounting locations of the body portion includes plural mounting locations for a plurality of optical communications modules. 10. The sliding tray of claim 9 , including a plurality of optical communications modules mounted at the plural mounting locations and a plurality of optical fibers connected to the plurality of optical communications modules, lying on the trough and extending through the gap in the cover at the first end of the trough. 11. The sliding tray of claim 1 , wherein the cover includes a labeling surface and including a lens covering the labeling surface. 12. The sliding tray of claim 11 , wherein the front wall is perpendicular to the trough when the cover is in the closed configuration and wherein the front wall includes the labeling surface. 13. The sliding tray of claim 3 , wherein the cover includes a labeling surface and including a lens covering the labeling surface. 14. The sliding tray of claim 13 , wherein the front wall is perpendicular to the trough when the cover is in the closed configuration and wherein the front wall includes the labeling surface. 15. The sliding tray of claim 4 , wherein the cover includes a labeling surface and including a lens covering the labeling surface. 16. The sliding tray of claim 15 , wherein the front wall is perpendicular to the trough when the cover is in the closed configuration and wherein the front wall includes the labeling surface. 17. A sliding tray configured to support a plurality of optical communications modules comprising: a body portion having plural mounting locations for the plurality of optical communications modules; a trough projecting from a front of the body portion and configured to support optical fibers connected to the plurality of optical communications modules; a cover pivotably connected to the tray and selectively pivotable between an open position providing access to the trough and a closed position covering at least a portion of the trough, wherein said cover includes a main panel having a front edge, a rear edge and first and second side edges with a front wall depending from the front edge of the main panel and first and second side walls depending from the first and second side edges of the main panel, wherein the cover is connected to the tray between a rear of the body portion and a front, outer edge of the trough, and wherein in the closed position, the main panel covers at least a portion of the top of the trough; and first and second spaced upstanding supports on the tray, each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports extending away from the tray in the up direction toward the cover, each of the first and second spaced supports including a first cooperating feature, each of the first and second side walls including a second cooperating feature, wherein the first cooperating feature of the first support attaches to the second cooperating feature of the first side wall and the first cooperating feature of the second support attaches to the second cooperating feature of the second side wall; wherein each of the first and second spaced upstanding supports is located in a position near a junction of the body portion and the trough; wherein the cover includes a labeling surface; wherein the front wall is perpendicular to the trough when the cover is in the closed configuration and wherein the front wall includes the labeling surface; and wherein the trough has a width between the body portion and the trough outer edge and a length between first and second ends of the trough, and wherein the first side wall of the cover is spaced from the front wall of the cover by a gap. 18. The sliding tray of claim 17 , including a plurality of optical communications modules mounted at the plural mounting locations and a plurality of optical fibers connected to the plurality of optical communications modules, lying on the trough and extending through the gap in the cover at the first end of the trough. 19.
