Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A bumper device for a vehicle is arranged on one of a front side and a rear side of a vehicle cabin to extend in a vehicle width direction. The bumper device for a vehicle includes: a tubular portion, which is made of metal and integrally formed so as to have a tubular shape extending in the vehicle width direction; and a reinforcing member, which is formed so as to have a plate-like shape extending in the vehicle width direction along an inner surface of the tubular portion. A foamed resin charged into the tubular portion is foamed to be increased in volume, to thereby fix the reinforcing member inside the tubular portion.

What is claimed is: 1. A bumper device for a vehicle, configured to be arranged on one of a front side and a rear side of a vehicle cabin to extend in a vehicle width direction, the bumper device for a vehicle comprising: a tubular portion, which is made of metal and integrally formed so as to have a tubular shape extending in the vehicle width direction; a reinforcing member, which is formed so as to have a plate-like shape extending in the vehicle width direction and perpendicular to a vehicle fore-and-aft direction, the reinforcing member being arranged to extend along a portion of an inner surface of the tubular portion, which is positioned on a vehicle cabin side, and the reinforcing member being configured to be adjacent the inner surface of the tubular portion, and a foamed resin in the tubular portion, the foamed resin having an expanded volume and fixing the reinforcing member inside the tubular portion. 2. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein one side surface of the reinforcing member extends along the inner surface of the tubular portion, and wherein the foamed resin is between the one side surface of the reinforcing member and the inner surface of the tubular portion. 3. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 2 , wherein the reinforcing member contains a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. 4. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 2 , wherein at least the reinforcing member is arranged in an internal space of the tubular portion. 5. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 4 , further comprising a support member configured to support the reinforcing member, the support member being arranged in the internal space of the tubular portion in addition to the reinforcing member. 6. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein one side surface of the reinforcing member abuts the inner surface of the tubular portion. 7. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 6 , wherein the reinforcing member contains a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. 8. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 6 , wherein at least the reinforcing member is arranged in an internal space of the tubular portion. 9. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 8 , further comprising a support member configured to support the reinforcing member, the support member being arranged in the internal space of the tubular portion in addition to the reinforcing member. 10. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein the reinforcing member contains a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. 11. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 10 , wherein at least the reinforcing member is arranged in an internal space of the tubular portion. 12. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 11 , further comprising a support member configured to support the reinforcing member, the support member being arranged in the internal space of the tubular portion in addition to the reinforcing member. 13. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 1 , wherein at least the reinforcing member is arranged in an internal space of the tubular portion. 14. A bumper device for a vehicle according to claim 13 , further comprising a support member configured to support the reinforcing member, the support member being arranged in the internal space of the tubular portion in addition to the reinforcing member.
