A skid for supporting a reciprocating pump assembly, the reciprocating pump assembly including a power end frame assembly having a pair of end plates and a plurality of middle plates disposed between the end plates. The end plates each have at least a pair of feet and the middle plates each having at least one foot. The skid includes a base and a plurality of pads extending from the base. At least a portion of the plurality of pads correspond to the end plate feet and at least another portion of the plurality of pads correspond to the at least one foot of each middle plate.

What is claimed is: 1. A skid for supporting a reciprocating pump assembly, the reciprocating pump assembly comprising a power end frame assembly having a pair of end plates and a plurality of middle plates disposed between the end plates, the end plates each having at least a pair of feet and the middle plates each having at least one foot, the skid comprising: a base; and a plurality of pads extending from the base, at least a portion of the plurality of pads corresponding to the end plate feet and at least another portion of the plurality of pads corresponding to the at least one foot of each middle plate. 2. The skid of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of pads have different thicknesses to accommodate bending of the base such that a top surface of each of the plurality of pads lies in substantially the same plane. 3. The skid of claim 1 , wherein the base includes a pair of side segments and at least one transverse segment extending between and connecting the pair of side segments. 4. The skid of claim 3 , wherein the at least one transverse segment is an I-beam. 5. The skid of claim 3 , wherein the pads corresponding to the at least one foot of each middle plate extend from the at least one transverse segment. 6. The skid of claim 3 , wherein the pads corresponding to the end plate feet extend from the pair of side segments. 7. The skid of claim 3 , further comprising a second transverse segment extending between and connecting the pair of side segments. 8. The skid of claim 7 , further comprising a third transverse segment extending between and connecting the pair of side segments. 9. The skid of claim 3 , wherein the at least one transverse segment is a tubular member. 10. The skid of claim 3 , wherein the base includes a plurality of gussets disposed generally adjacent to the plurality of pads. 11. The skid of claim 1 , wherein the skid is coupleable to a vehicle for transport. 12. A method of mounting a reciprocating pump assembly to a support skid, the reciprocating pump assembly including a pair of end segments and at least one middle segment disposed between the end segments, the method comprising: providing a base section; securing a plurality of pads on the base section, the plurality of pads corresponding to feet of the pair of end segments and at least one foot of the at least one middle segment of the reciprocating pump assembly; aligning the feet of the pump assembly with a corresponding pad on the base section; and securing the feet of the pump assembly to the base section. 13. The method of claim 12 , wherein, prior to securing the feet to the base section, the method comprises machining the plurality of pads such that a top surface of each pad lies in substantially the same plane. 14. The method of claim 12 , further comprising machining the feet of the pump assembly such that a bottom surface of each of the feet lies in substantially the same plane. 15. The method of claim 12 , wherein providing a base section comprises providing a pair of side segments and at least one transverse support member, and coupling the transverse support member between the pair of side segments. 16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising securing a reinforcing plate to at least one side segment. 17. The method of claim 15 , further comprising securing at least one gusset adjacent to at least one of the plurality of pads. 18. The method of claim 15 , wherein providing at least one transverse support member comprises providing a transverse support member in the form of an I-beam. 19. The method of claim 15 , wherein providing the at least one transverse support member comprises providing a transverse support member having a hollow interior. 20. The method of claim 15 , wherein providing the pair of side segments includes providing side segments with a “C” shaped channel. 21. The method of claim 15 , wherein, after aligning the feet of the pump assembly with a corresponding pad on the base section, the method further comprises: continuing to machine one or more bearing support surfaces of the pump assembly.
