Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A system, method, apparatus and computer program product for providing location based functions and mobile e-commerce comprising a central processing unit including a processor, a storage device, and programming stored in the storage device, a display device, an audio input device, an audio output device, a communications module, a commerce module, an image module, and a location module. The programming controls the operation of the present invention to provide functions based on location data, to facilitate commercial exchanges by wirelessly exchanging payment and product information with venders, to identify services such as venders meeting selection criteria, to wirelessly exchange select information with other users and systems, to restrict and/or monitor the use of the device based on authorized user parameters, selecting one of a plurality networks through which to communicate, detecting a trigger for performing an action based on a change in location and sensed data, storing a voice annotation with a computer data file, determining service providers and associated communication parameters, contemporaneously maintaining a wireless voice and data link, providing a system for selecting and delivering mobile advertisements, and many other functions and services that are described herein.

What is claimed is: 1. A computer implemented method of modifying a video, comprising: receiving, by a computer, video data representing video having a perceptible object, wherein the perceptible object includes a modifiable attribute; causing, by the computer, a display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to a first value; receiving, by the computer, a request to set the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object to a second value, wherein the request includes an indication of the second value and the second value is different from the first value; and in response to receiving the request, causing, by the computer, the display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to the second value. 2. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: causing, by the computer, the display device to present a visual indicator that the perceptible object is available for purchase. 3. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, by the computer, a request to purchase the perceptible object. 4. The computer implemented method of claim 3 , further comprising: receiving, by the computer, a request to pause the video; and pausing, by the computer, the video in response to receiving the request to pause the video, wherein the request to purchase the perceptible object is received while the video is paused. 5. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, by the computer, a request to pause the video; and pausing, by the computer, the video in response to receiving the request to pause the video, wherein the request to set the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object to the second value is received while the video is paused. 6. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the step of causing the display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to the second value comprises replaying a portion of the video that includes the perceptible object with the modifiable attribute set to the second value. 7. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object comprises a color of the perceptible object. 8. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: storing, by the computer, in a memory the received video data; storing, by the computer, in the memory data concerning a plurality of values for the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object; and receiving, by the computer, a request to present the video, wherein the step of causing the display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to the first value is performed in response to receiving the request to present the video. 9. The computer implemented method of claim 8 , further comprising: in response to receiving the request to set the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object to the second value, retrieving, by the computer, from the memory data concerning at least one of the values for the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object. 10. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the perceptible object comprises a perceptible object moving within the video. 11. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, by the computer, a request for information concerning the perceptible object. 12. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: selecting, by the computer, the first value based on information regarding a viewer of the video. 13. A device, comprising: a communication module; a memory; and a processor configured to be operatively associated with the communication module, an input device, a display, and the memory, the processor configured to: cause the communication module to receive video data representing video having a perceptible object, wherein the perceptible object includes a modifiable attribute; cause the display to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to a first value; receive, via the input device, a request to set the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object to a second value, wherein the request includes an indication of the second value and the second value is different from the first value; and in response to receiving the request, cause the display to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to the second value. 14. The device of claim 13 , wherein the processor is further configured to: cause the display to present a visual indicator that the perceptible object is available for purchase; and receive, via the input device, a request to purchase the perceptible object. 15. The device of claim 13 , wherein the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object comprises a color of the perceptible object. 16. The device of claim 13 , wherein the processor is further configured to: store in the memory the received video data; store in the memory data concerning a plurality of values for the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object; receive, via the input device, a request to present the video, wherein the display is caused to present the video data with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to the first value in response to receiving the request to present the video data; and in response to receiving the request to set the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object to the second value, retrieve from the memory data concerning at least one of the values for the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object. 17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions comprising: instructions for causing video data representing video having a perceptible object to be received, wherein the perceptible object includes a modifiable attribute; instructions for causing a display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to a first value; instructions for receiving, via an input device, a request to set the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object to a second value, wherein the request includes an indication of the second value and the second value is different from the first value; and instructions for causing the display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object set to the second value in response to receiving the request. 18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , further comprising: instructions for causing the display device to present a visual indicator that the perceptible object is available for purchase; and instructions for receiving, via the input device, a request to purchase the perceptible object. 19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object comprises a color of the perceptible object. 20. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , further comprising: instructions for storing in a memory the received video data; instructions for storing in the memory data concerning a plurality of values for the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object; instructions for receiving, via the input device, a request to present the video, wherein the instructions for causing the display device to present the video with the modifiable attribute of the perceptible object
