Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An outdoor unit of an air conditioner is disclosed. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner includes an outdoor unit body, a printed circuit board having a heat generating element installed thereat, an electronic box mounted in the outdoor unit body, the electronic box having the printed circuit board installed therein, a heat dissipation module contacting the heat generating element, the heat dissipation module allowing refrigerant to flow therethrough, and a heat dissipation module support mounted in the outdoor unit body such that the heat dissipation module is fixed to the heat dissipation module support to support the heat dissipation module. Shaking of the heat dissipation module can be minimized when the electronic box is separated, thereby improving reliability of the heat dissipation module.

The invention claimed is: 1. An outdoor unit of an air conditioner comprising: an outdoor unit body; a printed circuit board having a heat generating element installed thereat; an electronic box mounted in the outdoor unit body, the electronic box having the printed circuit board installed therein; a heat dissipation module that contacts the heat generating element, the heat dissipation module allowing refrigerant to flow therethrough; and a heat dissipation module support mounted in the outdoor unit body such that the heat dissipation module is fixed to the heat dissipation module support to support the heat dissipation module, wherein the heat dissipation module comprises a heat sink positioned between the heat generating element and the heat dissipation module support, wherein the electronic box is provided with a heat sink through hole, through which the heat sink extends, the heat sink through hole having a smaller size than the heat dissipation module support, and the heat dissipation module support covers the heat sink through hole. 2. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the heat dissipation module support is installed such that at least a portion of the heat dissipation module support faces the electronic box. 3. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 2 , wherein the heat dissipation module support is provided at the portion thereof facing the electronic box with a heat dissipation module fixing part, to which the heat dissipation module is fixed. 4. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 3 , wherein the heat dissipation module support is installed in the outdoor unit body such that the heat dissipation module support is positioned at a rear of the electronic box. 5. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the heat sink has a smaller size than the heat dissipation module support. 6. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the heat dissipation module support comprises a heat sink installation plate at which the heat sink is installed, the heat sink installation plate being spaced apart from the heat generating element, and the heat generating element and the heat sink installation plate are spaced apart from each other by a distance equal to a thickness of the heat dissipation module. 7. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 6 , wherein the heat dissipation module support further comprises an outdoor unit body fastening part formed at the heat sink installation plate such that the outdoor unit body fastening part is fastened to the outdoor unit body. 8. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the heat dissipation module further comprises a refrigerant tube, through which the refrigerant passes, wherein the refrigerant tube comprises: a heat sink contact part that contacts the heat sink; and a heat sink noncontact part, which does not contact the heat sink, and wherein the heat sink noncontact part is positioned between the electronic box and the heat dissipation module support. 9. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 8 , wherein the heat sink is provided with a refrigerant tube receiving part to receive the heat sink contact part, and the refrigerant tube receiving part faces the heat dissipation module support. 10. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 8 , wherein the heat sink contact part of the refrigerant tube is positioned between the heat sink and the heat dissipation module support. 11. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the heat sink is provided with a groove, and the heat dissipation module support comprises a protrusion, at least a portion of which is inserted into the groove. 12. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 11 , wherein the protrusion comprises a plurality of protrusions spaced apart from each other such that the protrusions face each other, and the groove comprises a plurality of grooves formed at portions of the heat sink facing the protrusions. 13. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the heat dissipation module support comprises a plurality of elastic holders spaced apart from each other such that the elastic holders face each other, and the heat sink enters a space defined between the elastic holders such that the heat sink is elastically supported by the elastic holders. 14. The outdoor unit of the air conditioner according to claim 1 , further comprising: an outdoor blower installed in the outdoor unit body to move outdoor air, wherein at least a portion of the heat dissipation module support is positioned between the electronic box and the outdoor blower.
