The invention relates to the compounds of formula I, formula II, formula III and formula IV or its pharmaceutical acceptable polymorphs, solvates, enantiomers, stereoisomers and hydrates thereof. The pharmaceutical compositions comprising an effective amount of compounds of formula I, formula II, formula III or formula IV and methods for the treatment of mucositis may be formulated for oral, buccal, rectal, topical, transdermal, transmucosal, intravenous, oral solution, buccal mucosal layer tablet, parenteral administration, syrup, or injection. Such compositions may be used to treatment of mucositis and oral mucosal inflammatory or oral infectious diseases.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 3 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 9. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 4 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 10. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 5 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 11. A method of treating therapeutically mucositis, ulceration of the mucous membranes lining, inflammation, hypertension, and neuropathy, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition of claim 6 , and wherein said pharmaceutical composition is administered to the patient in need by oral administration, delayed release, sustained release, transmucosal administration, syrup, mucoadhesive administration, buccal formulation, mucoadhesive tablet, topical administration, parenteral administration, injection, subdermal administration, oral solution, rectal administration, buccal administration or transdermal administration. 12. A method of therapeutically treating mucositis, ulceration of the mucous membranes lining, inflammation, hypertension, and neuropathy, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition of claim 7 , and wherein said pharmaceutical composition is administered to the patient in need by oral administration, delayed release, sustained release, transmucosal, syrup, mucoadhesive administration, buccal formulation, mucoadhesive tablet, topical administration, parenteral administration, injection, subdermal administration, oral solution, rectal administration, buccal administration or transdermal administration. 13. A method of therapeutically treating mucositis, ulceration of the mucous membranes lining, inflammation, hypertension, and neuropathy, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , and wherein said pharmaceutical composition is administered to the patient in need by oral administration, delayed release, sustained release, transmucosal administration, syrup, mucoadhesive administration, buccal formulation, mucoadhesive tablet, topical administration, parenteral administration, injection, subdermal administration, oral solution, rectal administration, buccal administration or transdermal administration. 14. A method of therapeutically treating mucositis, ulceration of the mucous membranes lining, inflammation, hypertension, and neuropathy, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 and wherein said pharmaceutical composition is administered to the patient in need by oral administration, delayed release or sustained release, transmucosal administration, syrup, mucoadhesive administration, buccal formulation, mucoadhesive tablet, topical administration, parenteral administration, injection, subdermal administration, oral solution, rectal administration, buccal administration or transdermal administration. 15. A method of therapeutically treating mucositis, ulceration of the mucous membranes lining, inflammation, hypertension, and neuropathy, wherein the method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition of claim 10 and wherein said pharmaceutical composition is administered to the patient in need by oral administration, delayed release or sustained release, transmucosal administration, syrup, mucoadhesive administration, buccal formulation, mucoadhesive tablet, topical administration, parenteral administration, injection, subdermal administration, oral solution, rectal administration, buccal administration or transdermal administration.
