Systems and methods of processing items. Items in a distribution network or process may be scanned at every handling point in the distribution network, and each scan is recorded in a central repository. The scan information can be used to generate real-time access to data, analytical tools, predictive tools, and tracking reports.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for providing access to a distribution network comprising: a scanner configured to scan a plurality of computer readable codes on a plurality of items in a distribution network, each of the computer readable codes including a sender identifier, the scanner further configured to generate scan data for each of the plurality of items and configured to associate the sender identifier with the scan data for each of the plurality of items; a data repository in communication with the scanner, the data repository configured to store the scan data; an interface configured to receive a specific sender identifier, to receive a user request for delivery performance attributes, to select the scan data stored in the data repository for items associated with the sender identifier and to communicate the selected scan data to a processor; wherein the processor is configured to receive the selected scan data and diagnose delivery performance based on the selected scan data, to generate a delivery performance report and correct a delivery performance issue according to the diagnosis of a delivery performance issue. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein diagnosing delivery performance comprises comparing the selected scan data with a predetermined threshold. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the interface is further configured to provide an alert upon detection of delivery performance at a predetermined threshold. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein correcting a delivery performance issue comprises allocating a delivery resource. 5. The system of claim 4 , wherein allocating a delivery resource comprises cycling item processing equipment, routing a transportation component, or routing a distribution item. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to manipulate resource data for characterizing a delivery resource. 7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the resource data comprises data selected from the group consisting of item processing equipment data, personnel data, transportation data, item cycle data, item inventory data and combinations thereof. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the delivery performance report comprises a delivery performance prediction. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein generating the delivery performance report comprises comparing the selected scan data to a delivery standard. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interface is configured to receive a second user request for computer readable code for directing distribution of a distribution item. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the computer readable code encodes information associated with a destination. 12. The system of claim 1 , wherein the scan data comprises information indicative of a user. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the interface is configured to provide the user selective access to the scan data based on the information indicative of a user. 14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the interface further comprises an authentication portal to authenticate the user for selective providing access to the scan data. 15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the authentication portal requires credentialing information before providing the user access to the scan data. 16. A method for providing access to a distribution network comprising: scanning a plurality of computer readable codes including a sender identifier on a plurality of items in a distribution network generating scan data for each of the plurality of items based; associating the sender identifier with the scan data for each of the plurality of items; storing the scan data in a data repository; generating an interface; receiving at the interface a specific sender identifier, and a user request for delivery performance attributes; selecting scan data based on the received request for items of the plurality of items that are associated with the specific sender identifier; communicating the selected scan data from the data repository to a processor; diagnosing delivery performance issues, using the processor, based on the selected scan data; generating a delivery performance report based on the diagnosis of delivery performance; communicating the delivery performance report to the user via the interface; and correcting a delivery performance issue according to the diagnosis of a delivery performance issue. 17. The method of claim 16 , wherein diagnosing delivery performance comprises comparing the selected scan data with a predetermined threshold. 18. The method of claim 16 , wherein correcting a delivery performance issue comprises allocating a delivery resource. 19. The method of claim 18 , wherein allocating a delivery resource comprises cycling item processing equipment, routing a transportation component, or routing a distribution item. 20. The method of claim 17 , further comprising receiving resource data for characterizing a delivery resource. 21. The method of claim 20 , wherein the resource data comprises data selected from the group consisting of item processing equipment data, personnel data, transportation data, item cycle data, item inventory data, and combinations thereof. 22. The method of claim 20 , wherein diagnosing delivery performance comprises manipulating resource data. 23. The method of claim 16 , wherein diagnosing delivery performance comprises performing a delivery performance prediction. 24. The method of claim 17 , wherein diagnosing delivery performance comprises comparing the selected scan data to a delivery standard. 25. The method of claim 17 , further comprising providing an alert, via the interface, upon detection of delivery performance at the predetermined threshold. 26. The method of claim 23 , wherein generating a delivery performance report comprises generating a delivery performance prediction report. 27. The method of claim 16 , wherein the scan data comprises information indicative of the user. 28. The method of claim 27 , further comprising selecting the scan data for manipulation based on the information indicative of the user. 29. The method of claim 28 , further comprising receiving credentialing information. 30. The method of claim 29 , further comprising associating the credentialing information with the user. 31. A system for providing access to a distribution network comprising: means for scanning a plurality of computer readable codes on a plurality of items, the plurality of computer readable codes including a sender identifier, in a distribution network means for generating scan data for each of the plurality of items; means for associating the sender identifier with the scan data; means for storing the scan data in a data repository; means for generating an interface; means for receiving at the interface a specific sender identifier and a request for delivery performance measurement from a user; means for selecting scan data based on the received request for items of the plurality of items that are associated with the specific sender identifier means for communicating the selected scan data from the data repository to a processor; means for diagnosing delivery performance, using the processor, based on the selected scan data; means for generating a delivery performance report based on the diagnosis of delivery performance; means for c
