What is claimed is: 1. A method of making a windscreen wiper device comprising the steps of: preparing a wiper strip and at least one carrier element in engagement with the wiper strip to bias the wiper strip into a predetermined configuration; engaging a base having an opening with the at least one carrier element; engaging a connection device directly with the at least one carrier element through the opening in the base; and removing the connecting device from the at least one carrier element. 2. The method as set forth in claim 1 further including the step of disengaging the connection device from the at least one carrier element. 3. The method as set forth in claim 1 further including the step of engaging the connection device with the base. 4. The method as set forth in claim 3 wherein the connection device is secured to the base with a tongue and slot connection. 5. A method of making a windscreen wiper device comprising the steps of: preparing a wiper strip and at least one carrier element in engagement with the wiper strip to bias the wiper strip into a predetermined configuration; engaging a base having an opening with the at least one carrier element; engaging a connection device directly with the at least one carrier element through the opening in the base; and wherein the connection device includes a connector body with a pair of front holding elements, wherein said at least one carrier element is a pair of carrier elements, wherein each carrier element has a notch, and wherein said step of engaging a connection device with the carrier elements is further defined as inserting a pair of front holding elements through the notches of the carrier elements and sliding the connector body in a longitudinal direction to engage the front holding elements with the carrier elements. 6. The method as set forth in claim 5 wherein the connector body further includes a pair of back holding elements and wherein the step of engaging the connection device with the carrier elements further includes deflecting the back holding elements outwardly and rocking the connecting body downwardly and deflecting the back holding elements back inwardly to engage around opposite sides of the at least one carrier element. 7. The method as set forth in claim 6 wherein the connector body includes a pair of rear walls integrally connected with the back holding elements and wherein the step of deflecting the back holding elements outwardly is further defined as pinching the rear walls together to deflect the back holding elements outwardly.
