Official abstract text for this publication.
Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface during an image capture. More particularly, the method includes a change in the display mode of a multiple screen device for a first screen and a second screen when capturing the image. The change in the display mode may be made in response to one or more actions conducted by a user. The image capture function includes different modes that display different information on the first and/or second screens.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: providing a device having at least a first display on a first screen and a second display on a second screen; receiving user interface input to execute an image capture function; determining one or more of an image capture function configuration, a device orientation, and a device state; and based on one or more of the image capture function configuration, the device orientation, and the device state, entering one of one or more image capture modes, wherein the image capture mode is a dual display mode, wherein at least one of the first or second displays provides an image preview of an image to be captured, wherein the other first or second display displays a film roll simultaneously with the image preview, wherein the film roll displays two or more images previously-acquired by the device, and wherein the device is in a self-portrait mode when the image preview is an image of a user, and wherein both the first and second displays are in view of the user. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the image to be captured is an inward-facing image. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the device is in an open state. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the device is in a landscape or portrait orientation. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein a lens is associated with the first display. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the image capture mode is a self-portrait mode when the device is open. 7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising, while in the self-portrait mode, receiving an input to display the image preview over both the first and second displays. 8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the film roll includes one or more previously acquired images. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the image preview does remain in a landscape orientation when the device is in the portrait orientation. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein in the self-portrait mode, the previously acquired image is a display of a last image acquired. 11. A device, comprising: a first screen comprising a first display, the first display including a first gesture capture region; a second screen comprising a second display, wherein the second display faces in a substantially same direction as the first display when the device is open, and wherein a lens is associated with the second display; a memory; a processor in communication with the memory, the first display, and the second display, the processor operable to: receive user interface input to execute an image capture function; determine one or more of an image capture function configuration, a device orientation, and a device state, wherein the image capture function configuration is for a self-portrait; and based on one or more of the image capture function configuration, the device orientation, and the device state, enter a dual display mode for the image capture function, wherein at least one of the first and/or second displays an image preview of an image to be captured, wherein the other first or second displays a film roll simultaneously with the image preview, wherein the film roll displays two or more images previously-acquired by the device, and wherein the device is in a self-portrait mode when the image preview is an image of a user, and wherein both the first and second displays are in view of the user. 12. The device of claim 11 , wherein the device is in an open state, wherein the device is in a landscape or portrait orientation, and wherein the image capture mode is a self-portrait mode. 13. The device of claim 11 , wherein the film roll displays a previously acquired image. 14. The device of claim 13 , wherein the film roll includes thumbnails of two or more previously captured images in a scrollable user interface, and wherein one or more controls is associated with one or more of the thumbnails. 15. The device of claim 14 , wherein the film roll is updated to include a next captured image, wherein, if no images have been captured, a static image is displayed on the first or second display instead of the film roll, wherein the film roll includes a selectable icon to view images in a gallery, and wherein a most-recent image is a first thumbnail in the film roll. 16. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, the computer executable instructions causing a processor of a device to execute a method for providing a user interface, the computer-executable instructions comprising: instructions to receive user interface input to execute an image capture function; instructions to determine one or more of a image capture function configuration, a device orientation, and a device state, wherein the device has at least a first screen comprising a first display and a second screen comprising a second display, wherein the device is in an open state, wherein, in the open state, the first and second displays face in substantially same directions, wherein the image capture function is configured to capture an inward-facing image, and wherein a lens is associated with the second display; based on one or more of the image capture function configuration, the device orientation, and the device state, instructions to enter a dual display mode for the image capture function, wherein at least one of the first and/or second displays provides an image preview of an image to be captured, wherein the other first or second displays a film roll simultaneously with the image preview, wherein the film roll displays two or more images previously-acquired by the device, and wherein the device is in a self-portrait mode when the image preview is of a user, and wherein both the first and second displays are in view of the user. 17. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the film roll displays a previously acquired image and, upon receiving an input, the second display displays a recently-acquired image. 18. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the film roll is a scrollable user interface including includes one or more thumbnails of one or more previously captured images, and wherein one or more controls are associated with the one or more of the thumbnails, wherein the one or more controls are selectable and include one or more of a group comprising a delete control, a share control, and a set as control. 19. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , further comprising: instructions to determine if an image has been captured; and if an image has been captured, instructions to update the film roll to include the captured image, wherein the captured image is a first thumbnail in the film roll. 20. The computer readable medium of claim 19 , wherein, if no images have been captured, a static image is displayed on the first or second display instead of the film roll, and wherein the film roll includes a selectable icon to view images in a gallery.
