Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Provided are an additive for an electrolytic composition which can suppress the decrease of a short-circuit current and improve an open circuit voltage as compared to the case when conventional 4-TBpy is used as an additive for an electrolytic composition, and an electrolytic composition using this additive and a dye-sensitized solar cell. The additive for an electrolytic composition for use in a dye-sensitized solar cell contains a pyridine derivative having a pyridine ring into which an alkylsilyl group is introduced, and it is preferable that this pyridine derivative has an alkylsilyl group at the 4-position of the pyridine ring, and it is more preferable that the pyridine derivative is 4-(trimethylsilyl) pyridine.

The invention cliamed is: 1. A dye-sensitized solar cell, which uses an electrolytic composition comprising support electrolyte comprising I 2 and LiI, and an additive comprising 4-(trimethylsilyl)pyridine (4-TMSpy) 2. The dye-sensitized solar cell according to claim 1 , comprising solvent, 0.1 to 1 mol/L of said support electrolyte, and 0. 1 to 1 mol/L of said additive, 4-(trimethylsilyl) pyridine (4-TMSpy)  with respect to the solvent. 3. The dye sensitized solar cell according to claim 2 , comprising acetonitrile as solvent, 0.05M I 2 and 0.5M LiI as support electrolytes, and 0.5M of 4-TMSpy. 4. The dye sensitized solar cell according to claim 2 , wherein the solvent comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of ethanol, t-butylalcohol, acetonitrile, methoxyacetonitrile, 3-methoxypropionitrile, ethylene carbonate, ethyl carbonate, and methyl carbonate.
