What is claimed is: 1. An isolated monomer of a fibrous polypeptide attached to a hyaluronic acid binding domain via a polypeptide bond. 2. The isolated monomer of claim 1 , wherein said fibrous polypeptide is selected from the group consisting of resilin, elastin, spider silk, silk-worm silk, collagen and mussel byssus protein. 3. The isolated monomer of claim 2 , wherein said resilin comprises an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 8 or SEQ ID NO: 9. 4. The isolated monomer of claim 3 , further comprising an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NOs: 52 or 53. 5. An isolated composite comprising a monomer of a fibrous polypeptide and hyaluronic acid, said monomer being attached to a hyaluronic acid binding domain, the composite not being attached to a solid support. 6. The isolated composite of claim 5 , wherein said fibrous polypeptide is selected from the group consisting of mussel byssus protein, resilin, silkworm silk protein, spider silk protein, collagen, elastin or fragments thereof. 7. The isolated composite of claim 5 , wherein said fibrous polypeptide is resilin.
