The present invention relates to the use of isolated polypeptides having protease activity and isolated polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides in animal feed and detergents. The invention also relates to nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides as well as methods of producing and using the polypeptides in e.g. animal feed and detergents.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for improving the nutritional value of or increasing digestible and/or soluble protein in an animal feed, comprising adding a polypeptide having protease activity to the feed, wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 95% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 97% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 98% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 99% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is SEQ ID NO: 5. 7. A method of feeding an animal, comprising feeding an animal with an animal feed comprising a polypeptide having protease activity, wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 95% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 97% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 10. The method of claim 7 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 98% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 11. The method of claim 7 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is at least 99% identical to SEQ ID NO: 5. 12. The method of claim 7 , wherein the amino acid sequence of the polypeptide is SEQ ID NO: 5. 13. The method of claim 7 , wherein the animal feed comprises at least one fat-soluble vitamin, and/or at least one water-soluble vitamin, and/or at least one trace mineral. 14. The method of claim 7 , wherein the animal feed further comprises one or more amylases; galactanases; alpha-galactosidases; proteases, phospholipases, phytases; beta-glucanases, xylanases; or any mixture thereof.
