A curved display device curved in a first direction includes: a first substrate including a plurality of signal lines, an insulating layer which covers the signal lines, a pixel electrode disposed on the insulating layer, and a shielding electrode electrically insulated from the pixel electrode and disposed along a signal line, which extends substantially in a second direction crossing the first direction, among the signal lines; a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate and including a common electrode; and a light control layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.

What is claimed is: 1. A curved display device curved in a first direction, comprising: a first substrate curved in the first direction comprising: a plurality of signal lines extending in the first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction; an insulating layer which covers the plurality of signal lines; a pixel electrode disposed on the insulating layer; and a plurality of shielding electrodes electrically insulated from the pixel electrode and overlapping first signal lines, which extend in the second direction among the plurality of signal lines; a second substrate curved in the first direction disposed opposite to the first substrate and comprising a common electrode; and a light control layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the plurality of shielding electrodes extend along the first signal lines and are spaced apart from each other in the first direction, a width in the first direction of a shielding electrode of the plurality of shielding electrodes is determined by a panel size and a radius of curvature of the curved display device and in a range including a value (w2) satisfying the following equation: w 2= C 1+α( R )+β( S )+γ( S 2 )+δ( R×S ), wherein each of C1, α, β, γ, δ denotes a predetermined constant, R denotes the radius of curvature, and S denotes the panel size. 2. The curved display device of claim 1 , wherein the shielding electrode receives a voltage having substantially a same electric potential as a voltage applied to the common electrode. 3. The curved display device of claim 2 , wherein the light control layer is a liquid crystal layer comprising negative type liquid crystal molecules. 4. The curved display device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of signal lines comprise: a plurality of gate lines extending substantially in the first direction; and a plurality of data lines extending substantially in the second direction, and the shielding electrode is disposed along a data line of the plurality of data lines. 5. The curved display device of claim 4 , wherein the shielding electrode has a width greater than a width of the plurality of data lines when viewed in a plan view. 6. The curved display device of claim 4 , wherein the second substrate further comprises a plurality of black matrixes extending along the plurality of gate lines. 7. The curved display device of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of black matrixes are spaced apart from each other in the second direction, and wherein the shielding electrode and a black matrix of the plurality of black matrixes overlap each other in areas in which the plurality of gate lines cross the plurality of data lines and the main storage line. 8. The curved display device of claim 4 , wherein the pixel electrode is electrically insulated from an adjacent pixel electrode, the data line, along which the shielding electrode is disposed, is disposed between the pixel electrode and the adjacent pixel electrode, and the shielding electrode is disposed between the pixel electrode and the adjacent pixel electrode. 9. The curved display device of claim 8 , wherein a width in the first direction of the shielding electrode is less than a distance between the pixel electrode and the adjacent pixel electrode. 10. The curved display device of claim 8 , wherein the shielding electrode is disposed on the insulating layer and comprises substantially a same material as the pixel electrode. 11. The curved display device of claim 4 , wherein the insulating layer defines red, green and blue color pixels. 12. The curved display device of claim 1 , wherein the width in the first direction of the shielding electrode has a value in a predetermined tolerance range, a center value of which is the value (w2) satisfying the equation. 13. The curved display device of claim 1 , wherein the curvature of the curved display device is different according to positions thereof, and the width of the shielding electrode has an average value of values calculated at the positions by the equation. 14. The curved display device of claim 1 , wherein the pixel electrode comprises a first sub-pixel electrode and a second sub-pixel electrode, which are arranged in the second direction, and the second substrate further comprises a black matrix extending substantially in the first direction at a boundary between the first sub-pixel electrode and the second sub-pixel electrode. 15. The curved display device of claim 14 , wherein the first sub-pixel electrode comprises at least two domains arranged substantially in the second direction, and the at least two domains have different liquid crystal alignment directions from each other. 16. The curved display device of claim 14 , wherein the second sub-pixel electrode comprises at least two domains arranged substantially in the second direction, and the at least two domains have different liquid crystal alignment directions from each other. 17. The curved display device of claim 14 , wherein the first direction is substantially perpendicular to the second direction. 18. The curved display device of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of signal lines comprise: a plurality of gate lines extending substantially in the first direction; a first data line extending substantially in the second direction and electrically connected to the first sub-pixel electrode; and a second data line extending substantially in the second direction and electrically connected to the second sub-pixel electrode, and the shielding electrode extends along the first and second data lines. 19. The curved display device of claim 18 , wherein the shielding electrode has a width greater than a distance between the first and second data lines. 20. The curved display device of claim 18 , wherein the black matrix includes a plurality of black matrixes which extend along the plurality of gate lines and cover the plurality of gate lines when viewed in a plan view.
