The invention claimed is: 1. A golf ball comprising a core and a cover of one or more layer encasing the core, wherein the cover has an outermost layer molded of an ether type thermoplastic polyurethane material and the surface of the cover is treated with an isocyanate compound comprising polymethylene polyphenyl polyisocyanate that is free of organic solvent, and the pickup of the isocyanate compound is in the range of 0.01 to 1.0 g, and wherein, letting the absorbance peak heights near a wave number of 1512 cm −1 measured by the attenuated total reflectance method in Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy (FT-IR/ATR spectroscopy) at an outside portion and an inside portion of the outermost cover layer be respectively P 1 and P 2 , the value P 1 -P 2 is at least 0.02. 2. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the value P 1 -P 2 obtained from the absorbance peak heights P 1 and P 2 at the outside portion and inside portion of the outermost cover layer is from 0.05 to 0.35. 3. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the absorbance peak height P 1 at the outside portion of the outermost cover layer is from 0.15 to 0.40. 4. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the absorbance peak height P 2 at the inside portion of the outermost cover layer is from 0 to 0.10. 5. The golf ball of claim 1 wherein, letting the absorbance peak height near the wave number 2280 cm −1 and the absorbance peak height near the wave number 2840 cm −1 measured by FT-IR/ATR spectroscopy at the outside portion of the outermost cover layer be respectively Q 1 and R 1 , the value Q 1 /R 1 is 0.20 or less. 6. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the isocyanate compound is a mixture of 4,4′-diphenylmethanediisocyanate and polymethylene polyphenyl polyisocyanate. 7. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the value P 1 -P 2 is from 0. 169 to 0.227. 8. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein, letting the absorbance peak height near the wave number 2280 cm −1 and the absorbance peak height near the wave number 2840 cm −1 measured by FT-IR/ATR spectroscopy at the outside portion of the outermost cover layer be respectively Q 1 and R 1 , the value Q 1 /R 1 is from 0.042 to 0.106.
