Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method for detecting the detachment of a sensor device mounted in a wheel of a motor vehicle at an assembly distance from the center of the wheel. The method includes steps for acquiring (E 1 ) the angular-speed value of the wheel, measuring (E 2 ) the acceleration value of the sensor device, calculating (E 3 ) the distance separating the sensor device from the center of the wheel using the angular-speed value and the acceleration value, and determining (E 4 ) the detachment of the sensor device if the calculated distance is different from the assembly distance of the sensor device in the wheel.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for detecting the detachment of a sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) mounted on a wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D) of a motor vehicle ( 1 ) at an assembly distance (D 1 , D 1 ′) from the center (C) of said wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D), said method comprising the following steps: acquiring (E 1 ) an angular-speed value (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) of the wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D), measuring (E 2 ) by a unit ( 17 A, 17 B, 17 C, 17 D) an acceleration value (a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , a 4 ) of said sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D), calculating (E 3 ) by a unit ( 5 A) a distance (D) separating the sensor device from the center (C) of the wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D) using said angular-speed value (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) and said acceleration value (a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , a 4 ), determining (E 4 ) by a unit ( 5 B) the detachment of the sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) when the calculated distance (D) is different from the assembly distance (D 1 , D 1 ′) of the sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) in the wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D), wherein the acquisition step includes an estimation of the angular-speed value (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) of the wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D) carried out using the speed of the vehicle ( 1 ), the steering angle (δ) of same and the radius of curvature (ρ) of same. 2. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radius of curvature (ρ) of the vehicle ( 1 ) is determined using a geolocation unit of said vehicle ( 1 ). 3. A device for detecting the detachment of a sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) mounted on a wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D) of a motor vehicle ( 1 ) at an assembly distance (D 1 , D 1 ′) from the center (C) of said wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D), said detection device comprising: a unit ( 7 A, 7 B, 7 C, 7 D) for acquiring the angular-speed value (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) of the wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D), a unit ( 17 A, 17 B, 17 C, 17 D) for measuring the acceleration value (a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , a 4 ) of said sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D), a unit ( 5 A) for calculating the distance (D) separating the sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) from the center (C) of the wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D) using an angular-speed value (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) and an acceleration value (a 1 , a 2 , a 3 , a 4 ), unit ( 5 B) for determining the detachment of the sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) when the calculated distance (D) is different from the assembly distance (D 1 , D 1 ′) of the sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) in the wheel. 4. The device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the unit for acquiring the angular-speed value (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) of said wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D) includes one sensor ( 7 A, 7 B, 7 C, 7 D) of angular speed (ω 1 , ω 2 , ω 3 , ω 4 ) per wheel ( 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D). 5. A vehicle ( 1 ) including a device for detecting the detachment of a sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) as claimed in claim 3 . 6. A vehicle ( 1 ) including a device for detecting the detachment of a sensor device ( 9 A, 9 B, 9 C, 9 D) as claimed in claim 4 .
