An antenna apparatus for a portable terminal having a main board is provided. The antenna apparatus includes a main antenna that electrically connects to a feed line of the main board. A metal frame is constructed as part of a case frame forming an exterior of the portable terminal. The metal frame is divided into first and second parts that are separated. The first part electrically connects to the main antenna or to the main board feed line, and is designed to radiate. The second part electrically connects to a ground surface of the main board. The metal frame enhances overall antenna performance rather than causing degradation through interference.

What is claimed is: 1. A portable communication device comprising: a display forming at least one portion of an outer surface of the portable communication device; a first conductive member to provide a radiation characteristic with respect to the portable communication device; and a second conductive member forming at least one portion of a periphery of the portable communication device, a first portion of the second conductive member electrically coupled with the first conductive member, and a second portion of the second conductive member electrically separated from the first portion. 2. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductive member is formed in an interior of the portable communication device. 3. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein at least one portion of the first conductive member is exposed to an exterior of the portable communication device. 4. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first portion of the second conductive member is coupled with the first conductive member via a connector. 5. The portable communication device of claim 4 , further comprising a third conductive member electrically coupled with the first portion of the second conductive member via another connector. 6. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductive member forms a first radiating element to provide the radiation characteristic, wherein the first portion of the second conductive member forms a second radiating element to adjust at least part of the radiation characteristic, and wherein the radiation characteristic comprises an operating frequency, a bandwidth, a reflection loss, or any combination thereof. 7. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductive member and the first portion of the second conductive member form at least one antenna. 8. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductive member is adapted to support a first specified frequency band, and the first portion of the second conductive member is adapted to support a second specified frequency band. 9. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first portion of the second conductive member is adapted to adjust at least part of the radiation characteristic in coordination with the first conductive member. 10. The portable communication device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductive member forms at least part of an antenna. 11. The portable communication device of claim 1 , further comprising a feed line coupled with the first conductive member. 12. The portable communication device of claim 11 , wherein the first portion of the second conductive member is directly coupled with the feed line. 13. The portable communication device of claim 1 , further comprising a ground plane formed in an interior of the portable communication device, and wherein the second portion of the second conductive member is coupled with the ground plane. 14. A portable communication device comprising: a display forming at least one portion of an outer surface of the portable communication device; a first conductive member to radiate using a power supplied via a feed line electrically coupled therewith; and a second conductive member forming at least one portion of a periphery of the portable communication device, a first portion of the second conductive member electrically coupled with the first conductive member, and a second portion of the second conductive member electrically separated from the first portion. 15. The portable communication device of claim 14 , wherein the first conductive member and the first portion of the second conductive member form a same antenna. 16. The portable communication device of claim 14 , wherein the first conductive member is formed in a top portion or a bottom portion of the portable communication device. 17. A portable communication device comprising: a first conductive member to provide a radiation characteristic with respect to the portable communication device; and a second conductive member forming at least one portion of a periphery of the portable communication device, a first portion of the second conductive member electrically coupled with the first conductive member, and a second portion of the second conductive member electrically separated from the first portion. 18. The portable communication device of claim 17 , wherein the second conductive member comprises a non-conductive portion formed between the first portion and the second portion. 19. The portable communication device of claim 18 , wherein the non-conductive portion is composed of a non-conductive material. 20. The portable communication device of claim 17 , wherein the first portion or the second portion is composed of a metal material.
