An athletic garment generally includes a short member, a supporter, and a plurality of straps. The short member may include a front panel, rear panel, two side panels, and a waistband. The supporter is dimensioned to releasably receive an athletic protective cup. The straps are coupled to one end of the supporter and are attached to the opposing rear panel of the short member.

The invention claimed is: 1. An incontinence garment comprising: an article of wearing apparel having a front portion and a rear portion and two side portions, wherein the front portion, the rear portion and the two side portions collectively form two leg portions, wherein each of the leg portions has a lower end with a leg opening, the rear portion having a vertical central axis extending along a middle of the rear portion, the vertical central axis bisecting the rear portion into two halves, and the front portion having an inner surface; a pocket having a first end and a second end, the pocket arranged overlying the inner surface of the front portion, the first end of the pocket directly attached to the front portion of the article and the second end of the pocket is indirectly attached to the rear portion of the article by a single elongated member, wherein a portion of the pocket between the first and second ends of the pocket is not directly attached to the front portion; a body of liquid absorbent material held by the pocket between the first and second ends of the pocket; and wherein the single elongated member has a first end and a second end, the first end of the single elongated member attached to the second end of the pocket, and the second end of the single elongated member directly attached to the vertical central axis of the rear portion. 2. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the article includes a waistband, and wherein the first end of the pocket is attached to the waistband. 3. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the single elongated member comprises an elastic member. 4. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the pocket includes an inner cavity, and wherein the body of liquid absorbent material is held within the inner cavity. 5. The incontinence garment of claim 4 , wherein the pocket has an opening configured for the removeable insertion of the body of liquid absorbent material into the inner cavity. 6. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the body of liquid absorbent material comprises a cup-shaped body having a self-sustaining shape. 7. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the body of liquid absorbent material comprising a cup-shaped body including an outer layer of foam material having a self-sustaining cup shape and an inner layer comprising the liquid absorbent material. 8. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the pocket includes an inner cavity, and wherein the body of liquid absorbent material comprising a cup-shaped body including an outer layer of foam material having a self-sustaining cup shape and an inner layer comprising the liquid absorbent material. 9. The incontinence garment of claim 8 , wherein the pocket has an opening configured for the removeable insertion of the cup-shaped body into the inner cavity. 10. The incontinence garment of claim 1 , wherein the single elongated member comprises a single monolithic member or a plurality of discrete resilient elements connected to one another to form the single elongated member. 11. An incontinence garment comprising: an article of wearing apparel having a front portion opposing a rear portion and further having two side portions, wherein the front portion, the rear portion and the two side portions collectively form two leg portions, wherein each of the leg portions has a lower end with a leg opening, the rear portion having a vertical central axis extending along a middle of the rear portion, the vertical central axis bisecting the rear portion into two halves, the front portion having an inner surface, and a waistband attached to the front and rear portions; a pocket having an inner surface and an outer surface, the outer surface of the pocket arranged overlying the inner surface of the front portion, the pocket having a first end directly attached to or adjacent to the waistband and a second end indirectly attached to the rear portion of the article by a strap, wherein the strap comprises a single elongated member having a first end and a second end, the first end of the single elongated member attached to the second end of the pocket, and the second end of the single elongated member directly attached to the vertical central axis of the rear portion, wherein the pocket is not directly attached to the front portion between the first and second ends of the pocket; and a body of liquid absorbent material held by the pocket between the first and second ends of the pocket. 12. The incontinence garment of claim 11 , wherein the body of liquid absorbent material comprises a cup-shaped body having a self-sustaining shape. 13. The incontinence garment of claim 11 , wherein the body of liquid absorbent material comprising a cup-shaped body including an outer layer of foam material having a self-sustaining cup shape and an inner layer comprising the liquid absorbent material. 14. The incontinence garment of claim 11 , wherein the pocket forms an inner cavity, and wherein the body of liquid absorbent material further a cup-shaped body including an outer layer of foam material having a self-sustaining cup shape and an inner layer comprising the liquid absorbent material. 15. The incontinence garment of claim 14 , wherein the pocket has an opening configured for removeable insertion of the cup-shaped body into the inner cavity. 16. The incontinence garment of claim 11 , wherein the single elongated member comprises an elastic member. 17. The incontinence garment of claim 11 , wherein the single elongated member comprises a single monolithic member or a plurality of discrete resilient elements connected to one another.
