Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for processing alarm signals are presented. In some embodiments, a mobile device may be registered with a security system that is installed at a premises. Subsequently, an alarm trigger associated with the security system may be received. Based on receiving the alarm trigger, the location of the mobile device may be determined. A response to the alarm trigger then may be determined based on the location of the mobile device.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: receiving, by a monitoring system associated with a premises, an alarm trigger associated with the premises; after receiving the alarm trigger, receiving, by the monitoring system, a movement pattern associated with a mobile device associated with the monitoring system; and causing, by the monitoring system and based on the movement pattern, modification of an abort window for an alarm at the premises. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing is further based on one or more timing considerations that are indicative of false alarms. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing is further based on one or more sensor conditions that are indicative of false alarms. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing further causes determination of a call tree based on the movement pattern. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing further causes transmission of data from the monitoring system to one or more security servers to verify whether the alarm at the premises is a legitimate alarm. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the causing further causes deactivation of the alarm at the premises in response to determining that the movement pattern is indicative of the alarm at the premises being a false alarm. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the modification of the abort window comprises: shortening the abort window for the alarm at the premises in response to determining that the movement pattern is indicative of the alarm being a legitimate alarm. 8. A method comprising: receiving, by a monitoring system associated with a premises, an alarm trigger associated with the premises; receiving, by the monitoring system, a movement pattern of a first mobile device registered with the monitoring system; receiving, by the monitoring system and from a second mobile device associated with the monitoring system, location information indicative of a location of the second mobile device; and causing, by the monitoring system, based on the movement pattern of the first mobile device, and based on the location information received from the second mobile device, modification of an abort window associated with an alarm at the premises. 9. The method of claim 8 , comprising: storing, by the monitoring system, first user profile information for at least one user of the first mobile device; and storing, by the monitoring system, second user profile information for at least one user of the second mobile device. 10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the first user profile information comprises one or more of age information, health information, or family relationship information. 11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the causing is based on determining that the alarm at the premises is a false alarm. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the determining that the alarm at the premises is the false alarm is based on a rule that indicates the movement pattern is indicative of the alarm at the premises being the false alarm. 13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the determining that the alarm at the premises is the false alarm is further based on determining that the location information received from the second mobile device is indicative of the alarm at the premises being the false alarm. 14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the causing is based on determining that the alarm at the premises is a legitimate alarm. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the modification of the abort window comprises: shortening the abort window to expedite a notification process. 16. A method comprising: receiving, by a monitoring system associated with a premises, an alarm trigger associated with the premises; receiving, by the monitoring system, first location information indicative of a first movement pattern of a first mobile device associated with the monitoring system, wherein the first movement pattern is indicative of timing information over a predetermined amount of time; receiving, by the monitoring system, second location information indicative of a second movement pattern of a second mobile device associated with the monitoring system; and causing, by the monitoring system and based on the first movement pattern and the second movement pattern, a response to the alarm trigger. 17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the causing the response to the alarm trigger is based on: determining that the first movement pattern and the second movement pattern are indicative of the first mobile device or the second mobile device being located at the premises; and determining that an alarm at the premises is a false alarm based on the first mobile device or the second mobile device being located at the premises. 18. The method of claim 17 wherein the response to the alarm trigger comprises deactivating the alarm at the premises. 19. The method of claim 16 , wherein the response to the alarm trigger comprises providing presence information to one or more first responders based on the first movement pattern and based on the second movement pattern. 20. A method comprising: receiving, by a monitoring system associated with a premises, an alarm trigger associated with the premises; receiving, by the monitoring system, location information from a first mobile device registered with the monitoring system; verifying, by the monitoring system, an alarm at the premises as a legitimate alarm based on: one or more timing considerations that are indicative of false alarms, one or more sensor conditions that are indicative of false alarms, or one or more mobile device movement patterns that are indicative of false alarms; and causing, by the monitoring system, based on the verifying the alarm at the premises as the legitimate alarm, and to expedite a notification process, shortening of an abort window associated with the alarm. 21. The method of claim 20 , wherein the verifying the alarm at the premises as the legitimate alarm is based on the one or more timing considerations that are indicative of false alarms. 22. The method of claim 20 , wherein the verifying the alarm at the premises as the legitimate alarm is based on the one or more sensor conditions that are indicative of false alarms. 23. The method of claim 20 , wherein the verifying the alarm at the premises as the legitimate alarm is based on the one or more mobile device movement patterns that are indicative of false alarms. 24. The method of claim 20 , wherein the causing further causes provision of presence information to one or more first responders based on location information associated with the one or more mobile device movement patterns. 25. The method of claim 20 , wherein the one or more mobile device movement patterns are indicative of timing information over a predetermined amount of time. 26. The method of claim 20 , further comprising: registering, by the monitoring system, a second mobile device; and after receiving the alarm trigger, receiving, by the monitoring system, second location information from the second mobile device indicative of a location of the second mobile device, wherein verifying the alarm at the premises as the legitimate alarm is based on the second location information received from the second mobile device. 27. The method of claim 26 , further comprising: storing, by the monitoring system, first user profile information for at least one user of the first
