The present invention provides an antibody that can react with chondroitin sulfate E at a high specificity and that can be used for, for example, the detection, isolation, and so forth, of specific sulfated polysaccharides. The present invention relates to a novel anti-chondroitin sulfate E antibody that reacts with chondroitin sulfate E and does not react with chondroitin sulfate A, does not react with chondroitin sulfate B, and does not react with chondroitin sulfate D.

What is claimed is: 1. A monoclonal antibody produced by a hybridoma having International Accession number NITE BP-01808 or NITE BP-01809 wherein the antibody specifically binds chondroitin sulfate E. 2. The antibody according to claim 1 that does not specifically bind with chondroitin sulfate A, does not specifically bind with chondroitin sulfate B, and does not specifically bind with chondroitin sulfate D. 3. The antibody according to claim 2 , which also does not specifically bind with any of chondroitin sulfate C, fully desulfated chondroitin sulfate C, heparin, heparan sulfate, heparosan, keratan sulfate, hyaluronic acid, and 6-O-desulfated chondroitin sulfate E. 4. The antibody according to claim 1 , which is obtained by carrying out an immunization using as antigen a substance in which a lipid is linked to chondroitin sulfate E. 5. The antibody according to claim 4 , wherein the lipid is dipalmitoyl-L-(α-phosphatidyl)ethanolamine. 6. A hybridoma having International Accession number selected from the group consisting of NITE BP-01808 and NITE BP-01809. 7. A method of detecting chondroitin sulfate E present in a sample, comprising performing an immunoassay comprising contacting the antibody of claim 1 with the sample to form a complex with chondroitin sulfate E present in the sample; and detecting the complex, wherein the presence of the complex indicates the presence of chondroitin sulfate E in the sample. 8. A detection kit for chondroitin sulfate E, comprising at least the antibody according to claim 1 .
