A pallet for transporting products thereon includes a top having a product support surface and an opposing underside, and with outer sides extending between the product support surface and the opposing underside. Four feet each extend away from the underside of the top. Each foot has a first opening facing out through the product supporting surface so that the feet allow stacking of such pallets. At least one product tab receiving area is adjacent an edge of the top and has a parent slot within the top with a partially closed bottom forming a shelf and an opening adjacent the shelf. An inner slot extends through the opening adjacent the shelf so as to be recessed below the parent slot. The inner slot has a pair of spaced apart sidewalls, a closed bottom, and with one of the sidewalls having a projection extending towards the other sidewall.

That which is claimed is: 1. A pallet for transporting products thereon, the pallet comprising: a top comprising a product support surface and an opposing underside, and with outer sides extending between the product support surface and the opposing underside; and at least one product tab receiving area adjacent an edge of the top and having a parent slot within the top and having a partially closed bottom forming a shelf and an opening adjacent the shelf, and an inner slot extending through the opening adjacent the shelf so as to be recessed below the parent slot, the inner slot having a pair of spaced apart sidewalls, a closed bottom, and with one of the sidewalls comprising a projection extending towards the other sidewall. 2. The pallet according to claim 1 wherein the other sidewall of the inner slot comprises a tapered member extending outwards therefrom, with the tapered member having a downwards taper toward the closed bottom. 3. The pallet according to claim 1 wherein the other sidewall of the inner slot is curved. 4. The pallet according to claim 1 wherein the projection longitudinally extends lengthwise within the inner slot, and has a rounded upper surface pointing upwards and a flat bottom facing downwards toward the closed bottom of the inner slot. 5. The pallet according to claim 1 wherein the projection is integrally formed with one of the outer sides of the top. 6. The pallet according to claim 1 wherein the parent slot and the inner slot each have a rectangular shape. 7. The pallet of claim 1 wherein the sides of the top are vertical and comprise a flanged edge extending outwardly from a planar member of the sides of the top, the flanged edge extending around an outer perimeter of the top at an interface adjacent the underside of the top; and wherein each corner of the top is configured as a recessed corner arrangement flush with the planar member of the sides of the top but recessed relative to the flanged edge. 8. A pallet for transporting products thereon, the pallet comprising: a top comprising a product support surface and an opposing underside, and with outer sides extending between the product support surface and the opposing underside; four feet each extending away from the underside of the top, each foot having a first opening facing out through the product supporting surface, the feet thus allowing stacking of a plurality of such pallets with the feet of a first such pallet extending into the first openings of a second such pallet, with the four feet being arranged to define a short side window at a short side of the top, the short side window for receiving tines of a fork lift for lifting the pallet; with two of the legs having a front face directed towards an adjacent short side window that is to receive the tines of the forklift, each front face including an upper portion adjacent the underside and a lower portion for contacting the ground; and at least one product tab receiving area adjacent an edge of the top and having a parent slot within the top and having a partially closed bottom forming a shelf and an opening adjacent the shelf, and an inner slot extending through the opening adjacent the shelf so as to be recessed below the parent slot, the inner slot having a pair of spaced apart sidewalls, a closed bottom, and with one of the sidewalls comprising a projection extending towards the other sidewall. 9. The pallet according to claim 8 wherein the other sidewall of the inner slot comprises a tapered member extending outwards therefrom, with the tapered member having a downwards taper toward the closed bottom. 10. The pallet according to claim 9 wherein the tapered member includes an outermost surface that is perpendicular to the closed bottom of the inner slot. 11. The pallet according to claim 10 wherein the outermost surface of the tapered member is vertically aligned with an outermost surface of the projection. 12. The pallet according to claim 9 wherein the tapered member is aligned with a center of the projection. 13. The pallet according to claim 9 wherein the tapered member has a flat underside that is parallel to the closed bottom of the inner slot, and with there being a gap between the flat underside and the closed bottom. 14. The pallet according to claim 8 wherein the other sidewall of the inner slot is curved. 15. The pallet according to claim 8 wherein the projection longitudinally extends lengthwise within the inner slot, and has a rounded upper surface pointing upwards and a flat bottom facing downwards toward the closed bottom of the inner slot. 16. The pallet according to claim 15 wherein the projection has a quarter-spherical shape. 17. The pallet according to claim 8 wherein the projection is integrally formed with one of the outer sides of the top. 18. The pallet according to claim 8 wherein the parent slot and the inner slot each have a rectangular shape. 19. The pallet of claim 8 wherein the upper portion of each front face of the two legs has a cut out so as to allow for a longer forward surface area on the underside of the top for contacting the tines of the forklift. 20. The pallet of claim 8 wherein the sides of the top are vertical and comprise a flanged edge extending outwardly from a planar member of the sides of the top, the flanged edge extending around an outer perimeter of the top at an interface adjacent the underside of the top; and wherein each corner of the top is configured as a recessed corner arrangement flush with the planar member of the sides of the top but recessed relative to the flanged edge. 21. A pallet for transporting products thereon, the pallet comprising: a top comprising a product support surface and an opposing underside, and with outer sides extending between the product support surface and the opposing underside; four feet each extending away from the underside of the top, each foot having a first opening facing out through the product supporting surface, the feet thus allowing stacking of a plurality of such pallets with the feet of a first such pallet extending into the first openings of a second such pallet, with the four feet being arranged to define a short side window at a short side of the top, the short side window for receiving tines of a fork lift for lifting the pallet; with two of the legs having a front face directed towards an adjacent short side window that is to receive the tines of the forklift, each front face including an upper portion adjacent the underside and a lower portion for contacting the ground; and at least one product tab receiving area adjacent an edge of the top and having a parent slot within the top and having a partially closed bottom forming a shelf and an opening adjacent the shelf, and an inner slot extending through the opening adjacent the shelf so as to be recessed below the parent slot, the inner slot having a pair of spaced apart sidewalls, a closed bottom, and with one of the sidewalls comprising a projection extending towards the other sidewall, the other sidewall comprising a tapered member extending outwards therefrom, with the tapered member having a downwards taper toward the closed bottom, the tapered member including an outermost surface that is vertically aligned with an outermost surface of the projection. 22. The pallet according to claim 21 wherein the outermost member of the tapered member is perpendicular to the closed bottom of the inner slot. 23. The pallet according to claim
