The invention claimed is: 1. An electrical connector configured to electrically connect a first electrical device and a second electrical device, the electrical connector comprising: an insulative housing comprising at least one opening disposed therein; a signal conductor comprising a first segment and a second segment that is spatially separated from the first segment to form a gap therebetween, wherein a portion of the first signal conductor is disposed within the insulative housing, and wherein the gap is accessible at the at least one opening; a circuit element disposed in the at least one opening and electrically connected to the first and second segments to bridge the gap; a conducting connecting member electrically connecting the circuit element to at least one of a ground plate and a ground conductor. 2. The electrical connector of a 1 , wherein said circuit element is an active circuit element. 3. The electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein said circuit element is a passive circuit element. 4. The electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein the first and second segments are in a first plane and the at least one of a ground plate and ground conductor are in a second plane different than the first plane. 5. The electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein the first and second segments are coplanar with the at least one of a ground plate and ground conductor. 6. The electrical connector of claim 1 , wherein the at least one of a ground plate and ground conductor are below the first and second segments, and the conducting connecting member extends though the gap. 7. An electrical connector configured to electrically connect a first electrical device and a second electrical device, the electrical connector comprising: an insulative housing; a signal conductor comprising a first segment and a second segment that is spatially separated from the first segment to form a gap therebetween; a circuit element electrically connected to the first and second segments to bridge the gap; a conducting connecting member electrically connecting the circuit element to at least one of a ground plate and a ground conductor. 8. The electrical connector of claim 7 , wherein said circuit element is an active circuit element. 9. The electrical connector of claim 7 , wherein said circuit element is a passive circuit element. 10. The electrical connector of claim 7 . wherein the first and second segments are in a first plane and the at least one of a ground plate and ground conductor are in a second plane different than the first plane. 11. The electrical connector al claim 7 , wherein the first and second segments are coplanar with the at least one of a ground plate and ground conductor. 12. The electrical connector of claim 7 , wherein the at least one of a ground plate and ground conductor are below the first and second segments, and the conducting connecting member extends though the gap. 13. An electrical connector configured to electrically connect a first electrical device and a second electrical device, the electrical connector comprising: an insulative housing; a signal conductor comprising a first segment and a second segment that is spatially separated from the first segment to form a gap therebetween; a ground conductor; and a circuit element electrically connected to the first and second segments to bridge the gap; and a conducting connecting member electrically connecting the circuit element to the ground conductor. 14. The electrical connector of claim 13 , wherein the ground conductor extends substantially parallel to the signal conductor. 15. The electrical connector of claim 13 , wherein said circuit element is an active circuit element. 16.
