This invention is in the field of medicinal chemistry. In particular, the invention relates to mixed disulfide conjugates of thienopyridine compounds, and their use as therapeutics for the treatment, amelioration, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

What is claimed is: 1. A compound having Formula I: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof; wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of H, —CO—OCH3, and wherein R2 is selected from the group consisting of wherein R3 is Chlorine or Fluorine. 2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. 3.
