Official abstract text for this publication.
An acoustic device includes an opening; a flange forming the opening; a first member including the opening and the flange; and a second member joined to the first member, thereby forming a cavity. The second member is formed of a material with a density lower than a material of the first member.
Opening claim text (preview).
What is claimed is: 1. An electronic device comprising: an acoustic device including, a first member includes at least one protrusion extending from the first member into an interior of a cavity to form an opening in the first member, the first member including a portion of a housing, the housing configured to have one or more internal components attached thereto, the first member formed of a first material, and a second member configured to join with the first member to form the acoustic device having the cavity between the first member and the second member, the second member including an inner face and an outer face, the inner face and the outer face each being formed of a second material, the second material being a different material from the first material. 2. The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the second material has a lower density than the first material. 3. The electronic device according to claim 2 , wherein the first member is plate-shaped and includes a metal material. 4. The electronic device according to claim 2 , wherein the second member includes a resin material. 5. The electronic device according to claim 2 , wherein the internal components supported by the housing includes a component configured to operate and emit sound during same. 6. The electronic device according to claim 5 , wherein the acoustic device is arranged such that the opening faces the component. 7. An image forming apparatus comprising: the electronic device according to claim 1 . 8. The image forming apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the one or more internal components supported by the housing includes a polygon mirror. 9. The image forming apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the acoustic device is arranged such that the opening faces the polygon mirror. 10. The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the first member includes a plurality of protrusions thereon such that, when an external cover is closed to join the second member to the first member, a plurality of cavities are formed therebetween. 11. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the second member is part of an external cover, the external cover configured to cover the one or more internal components of the electronic device therein.
