The invention claimed is: 1. An orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis for replacing the humeral head of a patient's humerus, comprising: a humeral head component comprising (i) a generally hemispherically-shaped bearing surface, (ii) a backside surface opposite the bearing surface, and (iii) a tapered locking mechanism formed in the backside surface, and a stemless humeral component comprising (i) a circular-shaped flange, the circular-shaped flange having a plurality of revision slots formed therein, (ii) a tapered locking mechanism formed in the circular-shaped flange, the tapered locking mechanism of the stemless humeral component being configured to engage the tapered locking mechanism of the humeral head component so as to taper lock the humeral head component and the stemless humeral component to one another, and (iii) a plurality of cantilevered legs extending laterally away from the bottom surface of the circular-shaped flange, wherein (i) each of the plurality cantilevered legs has one end thereof secured to the bottom surface of the circular-shaped flange at a location that is positioned radially between a center of the circular-shaped flange and a radial outer edge of the circular-shaped flange, and (ii) each of the plurality of revision slots is positioned on the circular-shaped flange at a location above, and radially outwardly from, one of the plurality of cantilevered legs so as to be radially located between the plurality of cantilevered legs and the radial outer edge of the circular-shaped flange. 2. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein: the tapered locking mechanism of the humeral head component comprises a tapered post extending laterally away from the backside surface, the tapered locking mechanism of the stemless humeral component comprises an elongated sleeve secured to, and extending laterally away from, the bottom surface of the circular-shaped flange, and the elongated sleeve has a tapered bore formed therein, the tapered bore being configured to receive the tapered post of the humeral head component. 3. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 2 , wherein a second end of each of the plurality of cantilevered legs is spaced apart from both the other cantilevered legs and the elongated sleeve. 4. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the circular-shaped flange is sized such that the radial outer edge thereof is positioned in contact with cortical bone tissue of the patient's humerus when the stemless shoulder component is secured to the patient's humerus. 5. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 4 , wherein each of the plurality of cantilevered legs is positioned radially inwardly of the radial outer edge of the circular-shaped flange at a location such that each of the plurality of cantilevered legs is in contact with cancellous bone tissue of the patient's humerus when the stemless shoulder component is secured to the patient's humerus. 6. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein the diameter of the circular-shaped flange is the same as the diameter of the backside surface of the humeral head component. 7. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of cantilevered legs comprises a bone-engaging plate having a plurality of serrations formed therein. 8. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 7 , wherein each of the plurality of cantilevered legs further comprises an elongated rib secured to the bone-engaging plate and extending inwardly therefrom in a direction toward the center of the circular-shaped flange. 9. An orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis for replacing the humeral head of a patient's humerus, comprising: a humeral head component comprising (i) a generally hemispherically-shaped bearing surface, (ii) a backside surface opposite the bearing surface, and (iii) a tapered post extending laterally away from the backside surface, and a stemless humeral component comprising (i) a circular-shaped flange, the circular-shaped flange having a plurality of revision slots formed therein, (ii) an elongated sleeve, secured to, and extending laterally away from a bottom surface of the circular-shaped flange, the elongated sleeve having formed therein a tapered bore configured to receive the tapered post of the humeral head component, and (iii) a plurality of cantilevered legs extending laterally away from the bottom surface of the circular-shaped flange in the same direction as the elongated sleeve, wherein (i) each of the plurality of cantilevered legs has one end thereof secured to the bottom surface of the circular-shaped flange at a location that is positioned radially between the elongated sleeve and a radial outer edge of the circular-shaped flange, and (ii) each of the plurality of revision slots is positioned on the circular-shaped flange at a location above, and radially outwardly from, one of the plurality of cantilevered legs so as to be radially located between the plurality of cantilevered legs and the radial outer edge of the circular-shaped flange. 10. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 9 , wherein a second end of each of the cantilevered legs is spaced apart from both the other cantilevered legs and the elongated sleeve. 11. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 9 , wherein the circular-shaped flange is sized such that the radial outer edge thereof is positioned in contact with cortical bone tissue of the patient's humerus when the stemless shoulder component is secured to the patient's humerus. 12. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of cantilevered legs is positioned radially inwardly of the radial outer edge of the circular-shaped flange at a location such that each of the plurality of cantilevered legs is in contact with cancellous bone tissue of the patient's humerus when the stemless shoulder component is secured to the patient's humerus. 13. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 9 , wherein the diameter of the circular-shaped flange is the same as the diameter of the backside surface of the humeral head component. 14. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 9 , wherein each of the plurality of cantilevered legs comprises a bone-engaging plate having a plurality of serrations formed therein. 15. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 14 , wherein each of the plurality of serrations is angled upwardly in a direction toward the circular-shaped flange. 16. The orthopaedic shoulder prosthesis of claim 14 , wherein each of the plurality of cantilevered legs further comprises an elongated rib secured to the bone-engaging plate and extending inwardly therefrom in a direction toward the elongated sleeve. 17.
