What is claimed is: 1. A machine tool comprising: a bed including a tool rest installation portion and a base section, the tool rest installation portion including a vertical wall and a part; a spindle configured on the bed to rotatably drive a work; and a tool rest having a rotary member supporting a plurality of tools in an indexable manner about a horizontal axis, wherein the tool rest is detachably installed in an opening formed on the vertical wall of the tool rest installation portion formed so as to be positioned on an operator side so that the tools on the rotary member face a side of the work gripped by the spindle, one longitudinal end of the part is connected to the vertical wall, and the other longitudinal end of the part is connected to the base section, where the one longitudinal end is closer to the tool rest than the other longitudinal end to the tool rest. 2. The machine tool as recited in claim 1 , wherein the vertical wall includes first, second, and third linear portions which define the opening, wherein the tool rest is inserted from the operator side or above, and wherein the tool rest is detachably fixed to a flange part of the linear portions. 3. The machine tool as recited in claim 2 , wherein the tool rest is attached to or detached from the tool rest installation portion using a carriage movable in a horizontal direction toward the tool rest installation portion. 4. The machine tool as recited in claim 1 , wherein the vertical wall includes first, second, and third linear portions which define the opening, wherein the tool rest is inserted to the opening from the operator side, and wherein the tool rest is detachably fixed to a flange part of the linear portions. 5. The machine tool as recited in claim 4 , wherein the tool rest is attached to or detached from the tool rest installation portion using a carriage movable in a horizontal direction toward the tool rest installation portion. 6. The machine tool as recited in claim 1 , wherein when the tool rest is attached, the plurality of tools are arranged between the spindle and the vertical wall in a first direction perpendicular to the horizontal direction. 7. The machine tool as recited in claim 6 , wherein the tool rest is detachable in the first direction towards the operator side.
