The present application relates to novel 5-amino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoline-2-carboxylic acids, to processes for their preparation, to their use for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases, and to their use for producing medicaments for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases, especially for the treatment and/or prevention of cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary disorders.

The invention claimed is: 1. A compound having the formula: 2. A compound having the formula: or a salt, solvate, or solvate of the salt thereof. 3. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 1 and at least one inert non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable auxiliary. 4. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 3 , further comprising at least one active compound selected from the group consisting of an organic nitrate, a NO donor, a PDE 5 inhibitor, a prostacyclin analogue, an IP receptor agonist, an endothelin receptor antagonist, a guanylate cyclase stimulator, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, an anti-obstructive agent, an anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive agent, an antithrombotic agent, an agent for lowering blood pressure, and an agent that alters fat metabolism. 5. A method for the treatment of primary and secondary forms of pulmonary hypertension and hypertension, comprising administering an effective amount of the compound of claim 1 to a human or animal in need thereof. 6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 2 and at least one inert non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable auxiliary. 7. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 6 , further comprising at least one active compound selected from the group consisting of an organic nitrate, a NO donor, a PDE 5 inhibitor, a prostacyclin analogue, an IP receptor agonist, an endothelin receptor antagonist, a guanylate cyclase stimulator, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, an anti-obstructive agent, an anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive agent, an antithrombotic agent, an agent for lowering blood pressure, and an agent that alters fat metabolism. 8.
