What is claimed is: 1. A coated plant seed having a coating comprising a carrier and an endophyte, wherein the endophyte comprises microbial strain SGI-003-H11, deposited as NRRL B-50483. 2. The coated plant seed of claim 1 , further comprising an agriculturally effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of a fertilizer, an acaricide, a bactericide, a fungicide, an insecticide, a microbicide, a nematicide and a pesticide. 3. The coated plant seed of claim 1 , wherein said composition is a seed coating formulation. 4. The coated plant seed of claim 1 , wherein said composition is prepared as a formulation selected from the group consisting of an emulsion, a colloid, a dust, a granule, a pellet, a powder, a spray and a solution. 5. The coated plant seed of claim 1 , wherein said plant seed is a corn plant seed or a wheat plant seed. 6. The plant seed of claim 1 , wherein the microbial strain SGI-003-H11 comprises a nucleotide sequence that exhibits at least 90% identity to SEQ ID NO:1. 7. The plant seed of claim 1 , wherein the microbial strain SGI-003-H11 comprises a nucleotide sequence that exhibits at least 99% identity to SEQ ID NO:1. 8. The plant seed of claim 1 , wherein the microbial strain SGI-003-H11 comprises the nucleotide sequence comprising SEQ ID NO:1. 9. A method for producing the coated plant seed of claim 1 , said method comprising a step of exposing or contacting said plant seed with said microbial strain SGI-003-H11, deposited as NRRL B-50483, wherein the coated plant seed is produced. 10. A method for inhibiting or treating the development of a pathogenic disease of a plant caused by a plant pathogen, said method comprising growing a plant from the coated seed of claim 1 . 11. The method according to claim 10 , wherein said plant pathogen is selected from the group consisting of Colletotrichum, Monographella, Penicillium , and Stagnospora organisms. 12. The method according to claim 10 , wherein said plant pathogen is selected from the group consisting of Colletotrichum graminicola, Monographella nivalis, Penicillium sp., or Stagnospora noduruin. 13. The method according to claim 10 , wherein said microbial strain is additionally applied to soil or a plant or plant part thereof grown from said coated seed.
