The following invention relates to a taste enhancer and a method of enhancing taste. The invention relates the use of a cooling enhancing composition which provides cooling enhancement when combined with other cooling compounds.

What is claimed: 1. A coolant composition consisting of (i) an effective amount of menthol; (ii) at least one of homoeriodictyol, eriodictyol or hesperetin; and (iii) a carrier material, wherein the amount of (ii) is effective to increase the cooling sensation of said menthol by 56 to 66%.
