The present invention provides an adhesive composition which has a cured product exhibiting high transparency and a high refractive index, and which has high adhesive strength and experiences little reduction in the adhesive strength, even when exposed to high temperatures. In order to achieve the above the adhesive composition includes: (1) a hydrocarbon polymer having a total light transmittance of visible light, as measured according to JIS K7361-1, of at least 80%; (2) at least one kind of (meth)acrylic monomer selected from a mono(meth)acrylic monomer having one (meth)acrylic group in a molecule and a di(meth)acrylic monomer having two (meth)acrylic groups in a molecule; and (3) a photoinitiator; wherein 30-190 parts by weight of component (2) are included relative to 100 parts by weight of component (1).

The adhesive composition according to claim 1 , wherein, in an image display apparatus comprising a protective member and a base having an image display part, the adhesive composition is arranged between the protective member and the base. 3. The adhesive composition according to claim 1 , wherein the component (1) has a softening point of 70 to 130° C. 4. The adhesive composition according to claim 1 , wherein a storage modulus E′ (25) of a cured product of the adhesive composition as measured at 25° C. and 10 Hz is more than 1.0×10 7 Pa and 1.0×10 9 Pa or less. 5. The adhesive composition according to claim 1 , wherein the component (1) is one or more polymers selected from the group consisting of polyisopropyltoluene, an alicyclic saturated hydrocarbon resin, and a terpene hydride. 6. The adhesive composition according to claim 5 , wherein the component (1) is polyisopropyltoluene having a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 400 to 1,200 and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) represented by a ratio of weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 2 or less. 7. The adhesive composition according to claim 6 , wherein the component (1) is polyisopropyltoluene prepared by polymerizing isopropenyl toluene with a Friedel-Crafts catalyst. 8.
