A stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products comprising a plurality of absorbent sheets and a method of folding and stacking the same. Each one of the absorbent sheets is folded twice about a first axis to define two inwardly folded inner panels and at least once about a second axis to define at least two outer panels sandwiching the inner panels therebetween. The second axis is substantially perpendicular to the first axis, Each of the absorbent sheet products comprises at least one outer panel at least partially sandwiched between a pair of outer panels of an adjacent one of the absorbent sheet products of the stack. Each one of the absorbent sheet products is entirely detached from all other absorbent sheet products of the stack.

The invention claimed is: 1. A stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products comprising a plurality of absorbent sheets, each of the absorbent sheets comprising: first and second folding edges spaced apart from each other and extending substantially parallel to a first axis, each of the absorbent sheets being folded only twice parallel to the first axis to define a first inner panel and a second inner panel folded respectively along the first and the second inner folding edges; and a third folding edge extending substantially perpendicular to the first axis, each of the absorbent sheets being folded along the third folding edge to define a first outer panel and a second outer panel, the first and the second outer panels sandwiching therebetween the first and the second inner panels, and at least part of one of the first and the second outer panels of at least another one of the absorbent sheet products. 2. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 1 , wherein the third folding edge is configured to bisect each of the absorbent sheets. 3. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 1 , wherein the first outer panel extends past the second outer panel. 4. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 3 , wherein each of the absorbent sheets further comprises a fourth folding edge defined in the first outer panel and extending substantially parallel to the third folding edge, each of the absorbent sheets being folded along the fourth folding edge to define a third outer panel. 5. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 1 , wherein the first and the second folding edges are configured to provide a gap between the first and the second inner panels. 6. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 1 , wherein each of the absorbent sheet products is entirely detached from all other absorbent sheet products of the stack. 7. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 1 , wherein each of the absorbent sheets consists of six panels separated by folding edges, each of the folding edges extending along one of the first and the second axes. 8. A stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products comprising a plurality of absorbent sheets, each of the absorbent sheets being folded only twice parallel to a first axis to define two inner panels folded respectively along two spaced-apart inner folding edges, each of the absorbent sheets being further folded at least once parallel to a second axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis to define a plurality of outer panels sandwiching therebetween the two inner panels, a pair of outer panels among the plurality of outer panels receiving therebetween at least part of one or more outer panels of at least another one of the absorbent sheet products. 9. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of outer panels comprises a first outer panel and a second outer panel separated by a third folding edge. 10. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 9 , wherein the third folding edge is configured to bisect each of the absorbent sheets. 11. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 9 , wherein the first outer panel extends past the second outer panel. 12. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 11 , wherein each of the absorbent sheets further comprises a fourth folding edge defined in the first outer panel and extending substantially parallel to the third folding edge, each of the absorbent sheets being folded along the fourth folding edge to define a third outer panel. 13. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 12 , wherein the third outer panel is folded toward the second outer panel. 14. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 13 , wherein the third outer panel at least partially overlaps the second outer panel. 15. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 12 , wherein the third outer panel is folded over and at least partially overlaps the first outer panel. 16. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 15 , wherein the pair of outer panels among the plurality of outer panels consists of the first outer panel and either one of the second and the third outer panels. 17. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 8 , wherein the pair of outer panels among the plurality of outer panels consists of the first and the second outer panels. 18. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 8 , wherein the two inner panels are spaced-apart from each other to define a gap therebetween. 19. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 8 , wherein each of the absorbent sheet products is entirely detached from all other absorbent sheet products of the stack. 20. The stack of interfolded absorbent sheet products of claim 8 , wherein each of the absorbent sheets consists of six panels separated by folding edges, each of the folding edges extending along one of the first and the second axes.
