Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Examples of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion with a toe portion, a heel portion, a rear portion, a front portion with a strike face, a sole portion, and a top portion with a plurality of weight ports. The body portion may define a periphery of the golf club head. The golf club head may also include a plurality of weight portions with each weight portion disposed in one weight port of the plurality of weight ports. Other examples and examples may be described and claimed.

What is claimed is: 1. A golf club head comprising: a body portion having an interior cavity, the body portion having a toe portion, a heel portion, a top portion, a sole portion, a back portion, and a front portion having a face portion; a plurality of weight portions; a first region at or near the toe portion including a first weight platform portion extending between the front portion and the back portion, the first weight platform portion having a plurality of ports, each port of the plurality of ports of the first weight platform portion being spaced apart from an adjacent port of the plurality of ports of the first weight platform portion in a direction from the front portion to the back portion such that the plurality of ports of the first weight platform portion extend in a direction from the front portion to the back portion, each port of the first weight platform portion configured to receive a weight portion of the plurality of weight portions, the first weight platform portion extending above a first surface of the top portion and being removably connected to the top portion with at least two weight portions of the plurality of weight portions; and a second region at or near the heel portion including a second weight platform portion extending between the front portion and the back portion, the second weight platform portion having a plurality of ports, each port of the plurality of ports of the second weight platform portion being spaced apart from an adjacent port of the plurality of ports of the second weight platform portion in a direction from the front portion to the back portion such that the plurality of ports of the second weight platform portion extend in a direction from the front portion to the back portion, each port of the second weight platform portion configured to receive a weight portion of the plurality of weight portions, the second weight platform portion extending above a second surface of the top portion and being removably connected to the top portion with at least two weight portions of the plurality of weight portions, wherein the interior cavity is at least 50% filled with an elastic polymer material. 2. A golf club head as defined in claim 1 , wherein the face portion includes a face opening to access the interior cavity, wherein the interior cavity is filled with the elastic polymer material through the face opening, and wherein the face portion comprises a face insert configured to cover the face opening. 3. A golf club head as defined in claim 1 , wherein the sole portion includes a sole opening to access the interior cavity, and wherein the interior cavity is filled with the elastic polymer material through the sole opening. 4. A golf club head as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion have different masses. 5. A golf club head as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion have a different color than a color of the body portion to define a first visual guide portion and a second visual guide portion for an individual at an address position. 6. A golf club head as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first weight platform portion has a length greater than 50% of a length of the body portion, and wherein the second weight platform portion has a length greater than 50% of the length of the body portion. 7. A golf club head as defined in claim 1 , wherein the first and second weight platform portions and the plurality of weight portions are configured to provide at least one of a toe-biased weight configuration or a heel-biased weight configuration. 8. A golf club head comprising: a body portion having an interior cavity, the body portion having a toe portion, a heel portion, a top portion, a sole portion, a back portion, a front portion having a face portion including a face insert, the body portion having a first color; a plurality of weight portions; a first region having a first weight platform portion removably connected to the top portion at or near the toe portion and extending above a top surface of the top portion, the first weight platform portion configured to receive at least two weight portions of the plurality of weight portions spaced apart in a direction from the front portion to the back portion; and a second region having a second weight platform portion separate from the first weight platform portion and removably connected to the top portion at or near the heel portion and extending above the top surface of the top portion, the second weight platform portion configured to receive at least two weight portions of the plurality of weight portions spaced apart in a direction from the front portion to the back portion, wherein the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion are spaced apart on the top portion in a direction from the toe portion to the heel portion, the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion being visible to an individual in an address position and extending lengthwise in a substantially similar direction as a direction of motion of the body portion when striking a golf ball to define a first visual guide portion and a second visual guide portion, and wherein the interior cavity is at least 50% filled with an elastic polymer material. 9. A golf club head as defined in claim 8 , wherein the first weight platform portion includes a plurality of first ports and the second weight platform portion includes a plurality of second ports, wherein each port of the plurality of first ports and the plurality of second ports is configured to receive a weight portion of the plurality of weight portions. 10. A golf club head as defined in claim 8 , wherein the face portion includes a face opening connected to the interior cavity, wherein the interior cavity is filled with the elastic polymer material through the face opening, and wherein the face insert is configured to cover the face opening. 11. A golf club head as defined in claim 8 , wherein the sole portion includes a sole opening connected to the interior cavity, and wherein the interior cavity is filled with the elastic polymer material through the sole opening. 12. A golf club head as defined in claim 8 , wherein the first region has a first total mass, wherein the second region has a second total mass, and wherein the second total mass is different from the first total mass. 13. A golf club head as defined in claim 8 , wherein each of the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion includes a plurality of ports, wherein each port of the plurality of ports is configured to receive a weight portion of the plurality of weight portions, wherein the first and second weight platform portions and the plurality of weight portions are configured to provide at least one of a toe-biased weight configuration or a heel-biased weight configuration. 14. A golf club head as defined in claim 8 wherein each of the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion includes a plurality of ports, wherein each port of the plurality of ports is configured to receive a weight portion of the plurality of weight portions, and wherein each of the first weight platform portion and the second weight platform portion is fastened to the body portion with at least two weight portions of the plurality of weight portions. 15.
