Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An intelligent door lock system includes a position sensing device at a dwelling configured to be coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock device. An engine with a memory is coupled to the positioning sensing device. An energy source is provided. At least one motion detection device looks for a person at or near a door or window at the dwelling. A device converts energy into mechanical energy is coupled to the positioning sensing device and the drive shaft. The device that converts energy is coupled to the energy source to receive energy from the energy source.

What is claimed is: 1. An intelligent door lock system, comprising: a sensor at a dwelling, the sensor being coupled to a drive shaft of a lock device to assist in locking and unlocking a lock of a lock device at a door, the sensor configured to know its current position even if it has been moved since it has been turned off to provide that the position sensor will always know its current position relative to the lock device; an engine, an energy source and a memory coupled together, the engine being coupled to the sensor, an energy source, the memory providing information relating to open or closed status of a door to a dwelling occupant or a third party designated by the dwelling occupant; at least one motion detection device to detect a person at or near a door or window at the dwelling; a security system that includes a camera coupled to the motion detection device to take a picture of an image of the person or an outline of the person, wherein in response to the motion detection device detecting a person at or near a door or window at the dwelling the camera takes a picture of an image person and provides a notification to the dwelling occupant or the third party designated by the dwelling occupant; and a device that converts energy into mechanical energy coupled to the positioning sensing device and the drive shaft, the device that converts energy being coupled to the energy source to receive energy from the energy source. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one motion detection device looks for an actual person which is an outline of a person at or near the door or window. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the alert is sent to the dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user's mobile device. 4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user's mobile device has an in-app accept/reject UI. 5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the dwelling occupant or third party can tap “View” to initiate a video call and an on-demand video session can be initiated. 6. The system of claim 4 , wherein toggle settings are provided in settings to enable/disable motion alerts. 7. The system of claim 6 , wherein person notifications are provided. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein in response to receiving the alert the dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user has options selected from at least one of: determine who is at the dwelling; communicating with the person who is at the dwelling; notifying authorities of an unwanted person at the dwelling; unlocking or locking the dwelling in order to allow or deny access to the person. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more motion detection devices and the camera form an intelligent security system that reduce a number of false alerts or alarms. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the intelligent security system provides: (i) an intelligent security system used to wake up the motion detection device and prepare for a video call; and (ii) for detection motion, with or without person detection. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the intelligent security system provides: (iii) detection people at the dwelling without linger detection; and (iv) detection of people at the dwelling with lingering. 12. The system of claim 9 , wherein the intelligent security system triggers motion detection device to wake up and turns on the camera to take a picture of an image when motion is triggered. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the intelligent security prepares for a call in response to a picture of an image taken by the camera. 14. The system of claim 9 , wherein the one or more motion detection devices initiates a speeding up of a notice to the dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user that the person is at the dwelling. 15. The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one or more motion detection devices is a short range motion detection device. 16. The system of claim 9 , wherein in response to the one or more motion detection devices being awakened the camera takes the picture of the image and a countdown to a timeout begins. 17. The system of claim 9 , wherein if the one or more motion detection devices is awakened before the timeout a notification is sent to the dwelling user, resource owner, or end-user and a motion notification is not sent. 18. The system of claim 9 , wherein if the one or more motion detection devices is not awakened before the timeout a motion notification is sent. 19. The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera is coupled to a doorbell. 20. The system of claim 19 , wherein the intelligent security prepares for a video call in response to a pressing of the doorbell. 21. The system of claim 1 , wherein the alert is a mobile device OS motion notification. 22. The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device OS motion notification includes text or equivalent of: “motion detected at <dwelling>”.
