The present disclosure relates to methods of retarding hair loss or facilitating hair growth and/or regrowth. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to methods of using the disclosed compositions to increase the rate of terminal hair growth and/or regrowth in a mammal.

What is claimed is: 1. A hair regrowth composition, comprising a. at least one hair growth active selected from the group consisting of minoxidil, diazoxide, pinacidil, bimatoprost, finasteride, dutasteride, synthetic or natural 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, flutamide, bicalutamide, sepicontrol, MC5-R antagonist, aldosterone receptor antagonist, saw palmetto, Pygeum africanum , beta-sisterol, licorice, gamma-linolenic acid, zinc and zinc salts, Cotinus coggygria extract, green tea catechin (−)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) at a safe and effective amount to grow or regrow hair; and b. from about 0.1% to about 99% of an admixture, comprising: i. from about 0.01% to about 99.98% by weight of the admixture of an acid selected from the group consisting of intermediates of the Kreb cycle, non-Kreb cycle intermediate alpha-keto acid, derivatives thereof and mixtures thereof; ii. from about 0.01% to about 99.98% by weight of the admixture of an antioxidant; and iii. from about 0.01% to about 99.98% by weight of the admixture of a fatty acid mixture or fatty acid mixture source comprising at least 7 unsaturated or saturated fatty acids selected from the group consisting of butyric acid, caproic acid, caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, myristoleic acid, palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, arachidic acid, gadoleic acid, pentadecanoic acid, margaric acid, margaroleic acid, behenic acid, dihomolinoleic acid, arachidonic acid and lignoceric acid.
