The invention provides novel quinolinone-carboxamide 5-HT 4 receptor agonist compounds. The invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, methods of using such compounds to treat diseases associated with 5-HT 4 receptor activity, and processes and intermediates useful for preparing such compounds.

What is claimed is: 1. 1-isopropyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid {(1S,3R,5R)-8-[3-formylamino-2-hydroxypropyl]-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-3-yl}amide of formula or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof. 2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising 1-isopropyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-quinoline-3-carboxylic acid {(1S,3R,5R)-8-[3-formylamino-2-hydroxypropyl]-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]oct-3-yl}amide of formula or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
