A novel soybean variety, designated XB27AS15R is provided. Also provided are the seeds of soybean variety XB27AS15R, cells from soybean variety XB27AS15R, plants of soybean XB27AS15R, and plant parts of soybean variety XB27AS15R. Methods provided include producing a soybean plant by crossing soybean variety XB27AS15R with another soybean plant, methods for introgressing a transgenic trait, a mutant trait, and/or a native trait into soybean variety XB27AS15R, methods for producing other soybean varieties or plant parts derived from soybean variety XB27AS15R, and methods of characterizing soybean variety XB27AS15R. Soybean seed, cells, plants, germplasm, breeding lines, varieties, and plant parts produced by these methods and/or derived from soybean variety XB27AS15R are further provided.

What is claimed: 1. A plant, a plant part, or a seed of soybean variety XB27AS15R, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-123773. 2. A soybean plant, or part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1 . 3. A soybean seed obtained by introducing a transgene into soybean variety XB27AS15R, wherein the soybean seed otherwise produces a plant expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XB27AS15R when grown under the same environmental conditions, and wherein representative seed of the variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-123773. 4. The seed of claim 3 , wherein the transgene confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance. 5. The seed of claim 3 , wherein the transgene is introduced by backcrossing or transformation. 6. A soybean plant, or a part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 3 . 7. A method for developing a second soybean plant comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant of claim 1 , wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant. 8. A method for producing soybean seed, the method comprising crossing two soybean plants and harvesting the resultant soybean seed, wherein at least one soybean plant is the soybean plant of claim 1 . 9. The soybean seed produced by the method of claim 8 . 10. A soybean plant, or a part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 9 . 11. A method for developing a second soybean plant, the method comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant of claim 10 , wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant. 12. A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant, plant part, or seed of claim 1 . 13. A method of producing a soybean plant comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising introducing a locus conversion into the plant of claim 1 , wherein the locus conversion provides a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance. 14. A herbicide-resistant soybean plant produced by the method of claim 13 , wherein the soybean plant otherwise expresses all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XB27AS15R when grown under the same environmental conditions. 15. A disease-resistant soybean plant produced by the method of claim 13 , wherein the soybean plant otherwise expresses all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XB27AS15R when grown under the same environmental conditions. 16. An insect-resistant soybean plant produced by the method of claim 13 , wherein the soybean plant otherwise expresses all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XB27AS15R when grown under the same environmental conditions. 17. The soybean plant of claim 16 , wherein the locus conversion comprises a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin. 18. The method of claim 13 , wherein the locus conversion is introduced by backcrossing or transformation. 19. A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell, of soybean variety XB27AS15R, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-123773, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises a locus conversion and otherwise produces a plant expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XB27AS15R when grown under the same environmental conditions. 20. A soybean plant, or part thereof, expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety XB27AS15R, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-123773.
