Abstract

An image processing apparatus, which has an input unit configured to input image data and which is communicably connected to an external apparatus via a network, includes an obtaining unit configured to obtain a document with a predetermined form that includes a request for input of image data, via the network from the external apparatus; a display unit configured to display, in the event of displaying a screen corresponding to the document obtained by the obtaining unit, a screen including a display object based on the predetermined form, the display object to instruct inputting of image data by the input unit; a determining unit configured to determine whether or not to display the display object on the display unit; and a control unit configured to control the display of the display object by the display unit, according to determination results of the determining unit.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1. A control method for an image processing apparatus in communication with a web server via a network, the image processing apparatus including a scanning unit configured to generate (a) first image data, a storage unit configured to store (b) second image data, and a display unit, the method comprising:
via the scanning unit, scanning an image of an original to generate the (a) first image data;
via the storage unit, storing the (b) second image data;
via the obtaining unit, obtaining content data provided by the web server, the content data including a predetermined form which requests input of image data; and
via the display unit, displaying, based on the predetermined form included in the obtained content data, a screen including,
a first display object to display a scanning setting screen for receiving, from a user, a scanning setting for scanning the image of the original for generating the (a) first image data; and
a second display object to display a selection screen for receiving, from a user, a selection of the stored (b) second image data,

wherein the screen facilitates appropriate selection of image data to be uploaded in connection with the predetermined form included in the obtained content data from among (a) the first image data generated by the scan of the original and (b) the stored second image.

2. An image processing apparatus in communication with a web server via a network, the image apparatus comprising:
a memory; and
a processor in communication with the memory, the processor configured to control:
a scanning unit configured to scan an image of an original and generate (a) first image data;
a storage unit configured to store (b) second image data;
an obtaining unit configured to obtain content data provided by the web server, the content data including a predetermined form which requests input of image data; and
a display unit configured to display, based on the predetermined form included in content data obtained by the obtaining unit, a screen including,
a first display object to display a scanning setting screen for receiving, from a user, a scanning setting for scanning the image of the original for generating the (a) first image data; and
a second display object to display a selection screen for receiving, from a user, a selection of the stored (b) second image data,

wherein the screen facilitates appropriate selection of image data to be uploaded in connection with the predetermined form included in the obtained content data from among (a) the first image data generated by the scan of the original by the scanning unit and (b) the second image data stored by the storage unit.

3. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the content data is described in HTML format.

4. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the storage unit stores the second image data in one of a plurality of boxes in a storage device of the image processing apparatus, and
wherein the selection screen is for receiving, from a user, a selection of the second image data stored in a designated box from among the plurality of boxes.

5. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the scanning setting includes scanning resolution.

6. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a transmission unit configured to transmit first the image data or the second image data based on the selection on the screen.

7. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program configured to cause a computer to execute the control method of the image processing apparatus according to claim 1 .

8. The image processing method according to claim 1 , wherein the content data is described in HTML format.

9. The image processing method according to claim 1 , wherein the second image data is stored in a plurality of boxes in the storage unit, and
displaying a designating screen for receiving, from a user, designation of a box from among the plurality of boxes in a case where the upload of the selected image data is selected on the screen.

10. The image processing method according to claim 1 , wherein the scanning setting includes scanning resolution.

11. The control method according to claim 1 , further comprising transmitting the first image data based or the second image data based on the selection on the screen.
