Official abstract text for this publication.
A measurement device includes a housing that has an attached biosensor that includes a reagent selectively responding to a specific analyte in a biological fluid, and is configured so as to be carried by a user, an analyte measurer that measures a concentration of the specific analyte with a biosensor, and a motion measurer that measures a motion level of the housing. A living activity level calculator calculates a living activity level of the user based on the motion level measured by the motion measurer, a recorder records the living activity level calculated by the living activity level calculator, and a controller associates the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer with an event of living activity of the user, estimated based on the living activity level recorded in the recorder, and records them in the recorder.

What is claimed is: 1. A measurement device comprising: a housing that has an attached biosensor that includes a reagent selectively responding to a specific analyte in a biological fluid, and is configured so as to be carried by a user; an analyte measurer that measures a concentration of the specific analyte with a biosensor; a motion measurer that measures a motion level of the housing based on vibration applied to the housing, wherein the motion measurer determines an orientation of the housing with respect to a horizontal and, based upon the determined orientation, measures the vibration applied to the housing after a predetermined time period; a living activity level calculator that calculates a living activity level of the user in terms of intensity of motion by a living activity of the user, based on the motion level of the housing measured by the motion measurer; a recorder that records the living activity level calculated by the living activity level calculator; and a controller that is programmed to detect a plurality of living activity levels recorded in the recorder greater than a first threshold, used to identify a moving activity in daily life to identify an interval between two of the moving activities and the length of the interval to identify a non-moving activity, to determine a meal event if the interval is longer than a predetermined time to identify meal time, to determine whether a time of the measurement of the concentration of the specific analyte performed by the analyte measurer is before the meal event or after the meal event, and to record the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer before the meal event and the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer after the meal event in a distinguishable state in the recorder. 2. The measurement device according to claim 1 , further comprising a time counter, wherein the controller uses timing information output from the time counter when determining the meal event. 3. The measurement device according to claim 1 , further comprising a transmitter that transmits the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer before the meal event and the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer after the meal event in the distinguishable state, to an external equipment. 4. The measurement device according to claim 1 , further comprising a display that displays the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer before the meal event and the concentration of the specific analyte measured by the analyte measurer after the meal event in the distinguishable state. 5. The measurement device according to claim 1 , wherein the biosensor is a disposable glucose sensor to adhere a user's blood. 6. The measurement device according to claim 1 , wherein the biosensor is a continuous glucose monitoring sensor to be inserted under skin of the user. 7. The measurement device according to claim 1 , wherein the controller estimates a meal event based upon living activity during a preceding predetermined time period and, based upon whether a predetermined number of living activities of a predetermined level occurred during the predetermined time period.
