A method includes receiving and processing an electronic signal that represents television content to provide a first media signal that is playable to present a forward-playback of the television content. The method also includes, responsive to a first instruction, providing a second media signal that is playable to present a reverse-playback of the television content, and recording a portion of the television content that corresponds to the reverse-playback. Further, the method includes, responsive to a second instruction, stopping the recording of the television content. In addition, the method includes, responsive to a third instruction, saving one or more recorded portions of the television content. The method also includes, responsive to receiving a fourth instruction, communicating the saved recording of the television content to a separate computing device.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method, the method comprising: receiving, by a processing system including a processor, an electronic signal broadcast from a television broadcasting system, wherein the electronic signal includes television content; processing, by the processing system, the electronic signal to provide a first media signal that is playable to present a forward-playback of the television content; receiving, at the processing system, a first instruction to begin recording the television content; responsive to receiving the first instruction, the processing system providing a second media signal that is playable to present a reverse-playback of the television content, and recording a portion of the television content that corresponds to the reverse-playback; receiving, at the processing system, a second instruction to stop recording the television content; responsive to receiving the second instruction, the processing system stopping the recording of the television content; receiving, at the processing system, a third instruction to save the recording of the television content; responsive to receiving the third instruction, the processing system saving recorded portions of the television content; responsive to receiving the second instruction, the processing system stopping the recording of the television content and continuing the reverse-playback of the television content as continued reverse-playback; receiving, at the processing system, a fifth instruction to begin recording the television content; and responsive to receiving the fifth instruction, the processing system recording a second portion of the television content that corresponds to the continued reverse-playback. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, at the processing system, a sixth instruction to stop recording the television content; and responsive to receiving the sixth instruction, the processing system stopping the recording of the television content; and wherein responsive to the third instruction, the processing system saving the recorded portions of the television content. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein responsive to the third instruction, the processing system concatenating the recorded portions of the television content as concatenated recorded portions and saving the concatenated recorded portions of the television content in a forward-playback order of corresponding television content. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing, by the processing system, the first and second media signals so that the forward-playback and the reverse-playback of the television content are playable simultaneously on a display device. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, at the processing system, a fourth instruction to communicate the saved recording of the television content to a separate processing system; and responsive to receiving the fourth instruction, the processing system communicating the saved recording of the television content to the separate processing system. 6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising receiving, at the processing system, a message to accompany the saved recording, and responsive to receiving the fourth instruction, the processing system communicating the saved recording and the message to the separate processing system. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising storing the first media signal in a buffer storage of the processing system, and storing the saved recording of the television content in a recorded content storage of the processing system, wherein the recorded content storage is distinct from the buffer storage. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the processing system comprises a set-top box. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the processing system comprises a first processing system, wherein the electronic signal is simultaneously broadcast from the television broadcasting system to a plurality of user processing systems, and wherein the plurality of user processing systems includes the first processing system. 10. A method, the method comprising: receiving, by a processing system including a processor, an electronic signal broadcast from a television broadcasting system, wherein the electronic signal represents television content; processing, by the processing system, the electronic signal to provide a first media signal that is playable to present a forward-playback of the television content; storing the first media signal in a buffer storage of the processing system; receiving, at the processing system, a first instruction to begin recording the television content; responsive to receiving the first instruction, the processing system providing a second media signal that is playable to present a reverse-playback of the television content, and setting an end point for a recording of a portion of the television content that corresponds to the reverse playback; receiving, at the processing system, a second instruction to stop recording the television content; responsive to receiving the second instruction, the processing system setting a start point for recording the portion of the television content that corresponds to the reverse-playback; receiving, at the processing system, a third instruction to store the recording of the television content; responsive to receiving the third instruction, the processing system storing the recording of the portion of the television content in a recorded content storage of the processing system, wherein the stored recording is defined at least in part by the start and end points, and wherein the stored recording is in a forward-playback order of corresponding television content; responsive to receiving the second instruction, the processing system setting the start point and continuing the reverse-playback of the television content; receiving, at the processing system, a fifth instruction to begin recording the television content; and responsive to receiving the fifth instruction, the processing system setting a second end point for a recording of a second portion of the television content that corresponds to continued reverse-playback. 11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising providing, by the processing system, the first and second media signals so that the forward-playback and the reverse-playback of the television content are playable simultaneously on a display device. 12. The method of claim 10 , further comprising receiving, at the processing system, a fourth instruction to communicate the stored recording to a social networking application; and responsive to receiving the fourth instruction, the processing system communicating the stored recording to a separate processing system associated with the social networking application. 13. The method of claim 12 , further comprising: responsive to receiving the fourth instruction, the processing system providing a notification that the stored recording should be edited to comply with requirements of the social networking application; and responsive to the notification, providing a graphical user interface for editing the stored recording. 14. The method of claim 10 , further comprising: receiving, at the processing system, a sixth instruction to stop recording the television content; and responsive to receiving the sixth instruction, the processing system setting a second start point for recording the second portion of the television content; and wherein responsive to the third instruction, the processing system storing the recording of the portions of the television content. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherei
